That idiot would be me. Also, oxygen poisoning does exist, though I haven't implemented it very realistically. I have to dive into the breathing code a bit more to figure out how it works.

During the appolo 1 operations, the module atmosphere was a 100% oxygen enviornment. Although this did ultimately lead to a fire that wiped out the crew before launch, they werent otherwise negatively affected by the oxygen enviornment, during training in the stationary training module, or launch(prior to said lethal fire).

EDIT: id also like to note the source you cited merely states that it can affect vision and cause muscle twitchness, and is by no means lethal.

When you have too high oxygen in SS13, you usually also have a higher pressure than normal. As far as I'm concerned, this will lead to damage.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_toxicity

Quote
In low-pressure environments oxygen toxicity may be avoided since the toxicity is caused by high partial pressure of oxygen, not merely by high oxygen fraction. This is illustrated by modern pure oxygen use in spacesuits, which must operate at low pressure (also historically, very high percentage oxygen and lower than normal atmospheric pressure was used in early spacecraft, for example, the Gemini and Apollo spacecraft).[83] In such applications as extra-vehicular activity, high-fraction oxygen is non-toxic, even at breathing mixture fractions approaching 100%, because the oxygen partial pressure is not allowed to chronically exceed 0.3 bar (4.4 psi).

Well, unfortunately, alot of us dont really give a shit about your concerns. It totally ruins the round, and is totally unrealistic.

Nice one qwert.

Would you mind stop whining? Instead of calling me an idiot and complaining how unrealistic it is, you could actually explain the problem. The fact that you die so fast from oxygen is a bug - It should obviously only do minor toxical damage and I'm working on that. If you don't like the fact that atmosphere with too high a pressure is not breathable, you should ask yourself if you really want realism.

Theres a pretty bloody obvious limit, and you should know that.

To explain the problem, (at least whats driving me up the wall) is that when i put an oxygen tank on, (one round) i almost instantly started dying, and when i took it off, i kept dying. I ran to medbay and injected the crap outta myself with antitox, witch put it back to zero. It suddenly rockets back up. I try some more antitox, and that doesent work anymore. So naturally i have my character run out and start screaming for help, am ignored, and sieze up dead near the arrival area.

I have a suggestion: holding your breath so that you can go like 5 seconds without breathing. Basically it would void the breathing proc for 5 or so seconds then, after time's up, you breath in lungfuls of toxins or N2O and die or you're in space and you die anyways, or you breathe AIR. The reason being is because I'd like to go in space and hold my breath for 5 seconds without dying instantly, even though I might pass out from the temperature anyways.

You do hold your breath in space. You will only suffer from oxygen loss there, thus, if you step back in, you will recover.

QuakeIV: You turned the oxygen tank too high. If you have it at normal output, it doesn't damage you. Admittedly, it starts damaging you a bit too early and a bit too heavily.

Setting them to 100 seems not to cause any damage. I am still trying to understand how breathing works, after that I will release a fix with a much higher oxygen tolerance.

Ok, never leave Zchris13 alone in the engine, EVER.
He overloaded the circuitry and sent us down in a flaming wreck.
Noone survived.

EDIT: It might have been a plasma storm too

Yeah, remove the oxy damage code, and radiation, until you are sure it is a remotely viable feature.

What's with the radiation? I had polished that up, hadn't I?
