You'll probably abuse me out of the thread but here goes.

Goonstation and the goon servers do NOT hate RP. We do not ban for RP. There were some idiotic admins that used to, but that is no longer the case and they were removed. The only time anyone may be removed because of roleplay is a: "LOL IM ROLEPLAYIN A MURDERER/MAD BOMBER/TERRORIST". b: someone who takes it far too far; "I WAS HITTING HIM IN THE MOUTH HE SHOULD HAVE ROLEPLAYED NOT BEING ABLE TO SPEAK".

You will not be banned simply for roleplaying. You are all welcome on the goonstation servers at any point - we always have admins on and if not you can find one of us in our IRC channel. We are an active, developing, successful branch of this game. Admins are (usually) fair, and if you are removed unduly we have an appeal forum.

You will not be shit on for not having a somethingawful account. There is no distinction between "pubbies" and goons beside the goons having a special chat channel (which I prefer to switch off for them because it's pointless). "Pubbies" are not treated more harshly than goons - we punish equally and fairly.

Feel free to come and try us and see; just because it was awful six months ago (which honestly it probably was) doesn't mean that is how it will also be. Also; no Data making himself invincible and running around! (if an admin does this on goonstation please inform me so I can be cruel to them).

Well thank you Rathen for that in-depth essay. In my opinion, Goonstation's admins are the problem. Not all of them, just the ones who don't really give a shit. And also, if someone is griefed they look into it but don't really do anything. I've never seen someone revived because they were griefed.

Actually, that screenshot was from the editor, with areas set to invisible. So you are likely seeing a temporary marker, not an ingame object. Likely a spawn point for some special mode.
