Yes sun position and "travel" is random.  I've had it both CW and CCW.  The one time I noticed it was counterclockwise, it was really booking too.

If you're having backstories involving synd/AI/disasters.  Just set flags for them and have the generator choose from that particular path.

1 - Nanotrasen funded the construction of a new station near Centration.  It was primarily constructed to research and collect plasma.  (This could be random for all intents and purposes)
2 - After several years and a few minor setbacks, the station was operational with a working crew of 25.  Several major finds were discovered.
3 - Eventually the station was infiltrated by a syndicate agent (Synd flag = 1) attempting to eject and confiscate the engine for the Syndicate.
4 - (Synd flag = 1, Choose Synd resolution) His attempts were foiled when an accidental plasma leak happened to poison him.  Though fortunate for our efforts, the mishap was evidence of an incompetant crew and they have been replaced.
Alternate 4 - Unfortunately, the syndicate agent succeeded and still remains at large.  The previous staff cannot be trusted, and has been removed from the station and replaced by a new one.
5 - Congratulations on being part of the new crew for this research station.  Remember to follow NanoTrasen safety procedures and guidelines at all times!

I'm against randomly generating a plot. Especially since it tends to... Fail.

Like I said, I COULD write a backstory if you guys wanted me to.

Hmm. This is going to take a while. And I won't be here for four days, so, yeah, no server from me mates.

unluckly, with johbson away, chances are low. i would host, but for unknown reasons i can't, altough i used to be able to.

Open BYOND.
File -> start dream daemon
click [...] and navigate to and select the .dmb for the game you want to host
Click the start button.

Edit:
If you are behind a router, you may need to forward a port, and use that port in the dream daemon settings.

i appear to be having problems with it, ill fix later.

in other news, i renewed my map-making stuff! but i actually have just started, and cannot seem to do much in dream maker, what else must i download for me to makes Space Station X?

I don't know if we can get their source, but the goonstation has a pipe dispenser and working manmade pipes. Need a locker to carry enough to do anything though.

We could just take the actual code of the pipes (Find it manually) and create a buildable version. Same as we did with airlocks.

You can use the table code to help you. When you have table parts, you click on them in your hand and specificy what kind of table to build. Facing, style, Etc.

Apply the same to pipes... Bingo.

Interesting fact:
Although SS13's GUI is overlayed on the map, BYOND supports a GUI off of the view area.
(map ranges from 1 to 2n+1 where n is the world view size, while the GUI at the very least can support 0 to 2n+2, probably more)

All you need is dream maker.

Create a new map(from the file -> new menu) and double-click on it.
You will need to expand the left menu to get at the important parts.
From one of the top menus, you can set what type of object is selected, otherwise click,drag, and delete will remove the turf as well.
You can right-click to access advanced options, such as individual deletion and object vars.
