Games would last longer if actions took more time to do.

Seriously. It takes at most a two seconds to do any significant action. Dismantling walls takes proper time. But constructing them is silly.

Do we want games to take longer?  When the traitor has succeeded, shouldn't he be able to get away and win?

I don't think respawning people is hardly ever a good idea...and if games are longer, people will get BORED if they are dead.

we could have some form of back-up station for the dead dudes to go to.

they can just bugger about, there can be a thunderdome too.

I found a MAJOR bug:
When a wire is cut, and it splits a power network off from the rest, any machinery on the new network is left powered, regardless if there is a power source on the network.

Maybe they have a reason for this, but in theory, it means you can give a door perpetual power by cutting a line leading to it while it is powered.

Also dumb, power is checked by the area rather than if the network has a powered APC connected.

Maybe it works for premade maps, but I'm the kind of person who believes that it would be better if the players were able to make almost anything, though it shouldn't be easy.

I was thinking more of a every 10 minutes or so. Don't see anyway it could fail other then people hiding for long periods of time. And would give the mess hall that was being worked on a meaning. Heck if the refrigerator works make some foods go bad over time.

Oh my god that sounds irritating.  Ten minutes?  Most of the time I'm busy for more than ten minutes at a time in that game!  How soon after getting hungry would you start starving?

I mean I guess it could work, in the same way that EVERYTHING in SS13 is supposed to make life harder, but still!

How about, you need to eat every 20 minutes, your not allowed to bring food out of the Mess hall, (IC enforced.) and if you don't eat, you walk really slow. Sounds good?

Would probably work better with a food level as an integer with a max of 10.
Every 10 minutes, it decreases.
If it is above 8 or below 4, the player gets a max speed penalty. Having a full EVA suit should not be affected, but you can't run as fast at ful speed.
Below 2, you move at EVA speed.
At 0, you collapse as if stunned. You can still see and hear things, but can't speak or interact with anything. It is up to the medical staff to revive you.
At -1, You die.

So you're out working on the prototype engine, except you have to take a break every 11 minutes, or you actually die?  D:

Man.  The mess hall would be the new griefer target.  People can get by just fine with air tank + internals in an airless station, or drag siphons around, but if you have to get food every 11 minutes or you die, well, gah.  Too easy to just -forget- about too.  Doctors would be interrupting procedures to feed themselves, firefighters would stop fighting fires to eat...

PRE-POST-EDIT:  Oh wait, decreases every 10 minutes, not every 1.  Actually that's not a terrible idea.  I'd be tempted to make it every 5 minutes myself...  Hmm.

Gah.  I don't know.  D:

Where can I get the host files from? Prefferably decent ones like goonstation. (Atleast, last time I played, they were relatively decent.)
I'm interested in hosting.

Idea:
Buildable APC.
When constructed, if it is not in an area, it flood-fills all player-passable spaces(open doors, floors) not associated with an area and if it doesn't encounter open space, it makes a new area of the filled area.

Ugh.
I am trying to link the buildable airlocks to requiring power.
It ALMOST works, in nearly every case.
Except if it is constructed over a wire(placed before airlock construction) that is not in an area.
The solution wuld probably be that if an area does not exist, it should search the current powernet for an APC and connect to the nearest one(by wire path), spreading it's area along the wires.
Except I have no idea how to do that yet.
I guess that as a temporary placeholder, it should assume no power outside of a preplaced area.
