Was playing around for a little bit. Someone bravely (read: stupidly) tried to brave an area with no oxygen to restore it. He died, I valiantly tried to save him. He was dead when I reached him. I dragged his body out and attempted CPR like a good RPer. He respawned behind me. Still a good RPer, I freaked the fuck out.

Also, I took an guy who was AFK, stuck him in a small room and switched on the air syphoner. I assume that sucks the air out, can anyone confirm this? Someone dragged him out before he died. :(

Oh well, no-one suspected me.

But that unbalances AI malfunction.

EXCEPT in malfunction mode then. I have no idea how to explain what I am trying to say here. So I just deleted my convoluted explanation.


Basically, here's some pseudo code instead.

Code: [Select]

Value A:

If game mode is malfunction then output 1 else output 0.

Value B:

If character is syndicate output 1 else output 0.

Logic gate:

If value A is 1 and value B is 0 then output 1.
If value A is 1 and value B is 1 then output 1.
If value A is 0 and value B is 0 then output 0.
If value A is 0 and value B is 1 then output 1.

Bomb detonation:
If logic gate is 1 then allow bomb detonation.
If logic gate is 0 then delete bomb.

Disclaimer: I AM NOT A PROGRAMMER!

I'm pretty sure Floirt can figure something out.

But you don't need it to be on in the 'normal' rounds (traitor, nuclear) and I agree, it should be on on default in Malfunction, Revolution, Extended, and Sandbox.

The only thing Admins needs to do is only to enable it when SOMEONE REALLY NEEDS use bombs while NOT a syndicate to in the former modes. Sure, it's tiring for the admins, but better for the game in the long run. Also, it would be far more fluid than your first suggestion, Yanlin.

I think the only way I'd like( For lack of a better term, I'd prefer it not there at all.) this code used in any way, would be for station destroying bombs. Small/Medium bombs should be left alone, or so I think, at least.

Where do I download the latest build? I'm trying to make a map and can't find the one with all the gibs and bloodsplatter. (It's a Reclaim the Derelict scenario)

Major damage or total destruction?
Major damage anything from 5k to 10k. 10k - 15k - Chunks of debris everywhere, but station is COMPLETELY unusable. Anything higher than 15k - complete annihilation.

Seems like an interesting (if roundabout and almost useless) way of killing someone, so I'd like an answer.

Last round I did on a Goon server, I turned all the siphons on and the ones with air in them off. Atmos and the arrival shuttle were completly unbreathable after a while, and no one suspected me.  :P

If you are the traitor, go for it.

The latest build is somewhere in the thread. If you talk about the goon one, well, tough luck.

Also, seems like the upper bound of our bombs will be 10k. Idea: Just make 10k+ bombs too hot to handle, ie, you drop it, and as an added bonus, you get burned too! Yay.

Can be applied only to AFK persons without internals. Besides, inefficient. Just chocke them with hands, or hit couple of times over their head with extinguisher. Or throw into space.

Bombs are only the most spectacular and visible way to fuck everything up. If you start to restrict them, it will only affect casual players: griefers will find other ways to spoil everybody's fun. It only takes a toolbox to depressurize the station and there is much more ways to hamper the gameplay, from outright killing to cutting cables.

I have other idea: let's just make more admin tools and log almost everything. Who attacked whom recently, who have cut a cable, who detonated a bomb and where. That would give us time to react swiftly, not only when things are fucked up beyond repair. And for a griefer it would be much easier to visit another server, than go somewhere where he would be discovered at once.
