Go for it!  Hey, if you can maintain a good population, then by all means it's a good thing.  :)

Goodness I remember when I used to be above average in Swordfights and could outlast the Vets. Those were the times.

Anyhow, is it easy to switch maps?

Maybe there should be a map that increases its size (possibly by opening up the other sections of the station) depending on the number of players. With some visual cues to tell players what exactly is open.

Why should it not be in this thread? This is a forum which is for talking, and this is a topic about talking about the game.

It is impossible for me to moderate multiplayer drama, as I have no access to the pertinent information, so I'm not interested in seeing these pointless, moderator-report-generating arguments permeate an otherwise reasonable game thread.  Moreover, the OP has requested that you move the discussion out of his/her thread, and I think it's a reasonable request since the repeated complaints are tangential to the discussion of the game.  It would be better if Broose added a guideline to the first post, but I don't know if there'd be much of a point with the thread so long.

You've been warned for your subsequent post.  It seems your question above wasn't asked to be answered and that you're insisting on flouting moderation.

It's possible, if we add another Z-level.  Right now, the escape shuttle etc. works by moving all the tiles in the "escape shuttle" zone from one Z-level to another--I think they have to be "on top" of each other though, IE in the same X-Y coordinates, different Z.  You could open up more station by keeping new station parts in a new Z-level, and 'porting them over at the start of the game when the admin says so, or something.

Complications:  When the server reboots, NO information is normally saved in terms of server state (only player-specific stuff).  So it's a little tricky to know how many players you have.

You could open up new station areas when the round starts though, after everyone's been milling around without jumpsuits on the arrival shuttle for a while like normal.  That would give you the number of players present when the round starts, which is as good of a number as you're going to get!

well im done complaining about it, but if we cant ask about it here, and PMs are not being responded too, and there was really no reason to ban us in the first place then it just seems unfair that there is no way to solve this.

just leave it MarineElite, someone will have to put another world eventually, and if they keep banning people eventually all they will be left with are the goons

Hey, semi interesting and possibly really hard to do idea, but seems to me to be relatively easy and possible to do. Multiple floors to the station, and or air ducts ala Alien, as opposed to those open maintence tunnels. The floors would just be additions to the station, where as the airducts would allow quick movement across the station for engineers and Atmos techs.

Alright, I'll add to the first post, may do something. Sorry about all the trouble the thread's caused.

That's a very good idea, Sowelu, I think it might work like that! ;D

Unfortunately that's a pretty difficult idea.  Z-levels have huge complications for a lot of reasons--A lot of the code already assumes that people stay on one Z-level unless something big happens, I -think- the camera system is partly Z-level dependent, and there's major, major interface issues where Z-levels are concerned.  The interface issues are the biggest problem, and I don't think we have anyone here who knows much about the SS13 interface.  Z-levels are mostly just used to separate areas that aren't really connected, but still need to be kept track of.

Hmm...Trying to think about ways that this could go horribly wrong.  Atmos issues, if the air pipes would normally be connected to other-station-parts but are now connected to vacuum?  That could probably be coded around, but the current SS13 code doesn't swap the contents in two areas I think, instead it just overwrites and leaves empty space behind.  I'm not sure how it would handle trying to plunk a new station chunk down where there used to be a pipe endcap (if there even is such a concept).

lol new rule made me lol

ok, if you can find a way for us to stay on the station even when we leave (via sleeping in a bed or even on the floor(although this will probably get you into the medibay)) then we could play one heck of a long game. and the number of people in the game would just keep increasing

I was warned for? I was stating that it shouldn't be advertised as a Bay12 server if people at Bay12 are going to be banned without a reason.

I'd say that if shuttles can move in the Z axis, they can be made to move in the X and Y axii too. AFAIK, they move on the Z axis simply by changing the coordinates of all the tiles to current_z - 1 or something similar, so moving them on the X and Y would also just be a matter of current_x = current_x + 15 or something.
