Well, cant you just "move" everything else but the station to pretend its moving.
Like.. "YOU HAVE NOW ARRIVED AT THE ASTROID" = create a astroid near the ship.

by the way, i took a little time and tried to design a compartmentalized ship/station.. it no doubt, has tons of issues and things you hate about it.. [plasma near arrivals, cause that makes sence]
But this is the general idea of the sort of ship-style station i think would be cool, just imagine it was done by someone far more talented then i..

Pretty interesting, but it's missing the supply office and warehouse...

Why not try a design that's less of a cylinder and group the different compartments?

i wanted a ship-esk feel, hence the shape.. Anyway who thinks of spaceships like planes in space is crazy... cylinder/hammerhead makes a lot more sence for a spaceship.. atleast to me..
Pretty embarassed i forgot the supply office/warehouse/supplyshuttle though.

How about the massive docking hangar? With force shield?

The one that replaces both arrivals and emergency shuttle?

You have to deactivate the shield generators to get inside as a syndicate!

I don't mean like adding wings, etc.  But everything being a cylinder like that means that apart from the maintenance tubes, it's all basically one big hallway.  that's why I'm suggesting making it less cylindrical.  Even just a Y-shaped hallway with the double-ended side facing the rear would look pretty neat imo.

But then again that's just my opinion.  And I like the idea of a massive docking hangar :)

Yeah, i like the idea of a massaive hanger too. thats doable-persay, but i dont really feel like redesigning/creating it again at the moment.

I agree that having a more interesting corridor shape would be better as well. But well.. perhaps someone with actual design skills could do that.. I must admit to being a bit at a loss on how to design that in the shape i want... I guess a Y shaped ship would be possible too.. but i like the cylinder :P

Still, i think that at the very least it demonstrates one way one could create a multiple z-level ship/station [since this is 2 main z-levels, and 2 non-main z-levels to make 4]

Edit: you could just move all the shuttles/bay down to the bottom floor, and have the entire bottom floor be a shuttle bay [with a small warehouse]
