Why?

People Won't stop attacking you because you have stopped moving.

In fact, I believe a common strategy for killing someone is to engage them in a conversation first so that their hands are focused on the letters and not the arrow keys, giving you time to bash them a couple times in the head with a toolbox to knock them unconscious. I've been suckerpunched like that a few times.

Fun fun....

Also, head's server lagged out for me at the end of blob. The nuke doesnt HAVE to blow up the station. =/

I took me like 10 clicks to get to page 730 off the main forum page. Yay.

Yes, engaging in convo and attacking is common.

Unfortunately, it is both very hard if not impossible to know when someone is typing, as that works through the BYOND client, and gives greifers far more of an advantage than regular players.

Try closing your eyes and not moving every time you talk to someone for a day, you will see how bad the idea is.

Try, in TF2, starting to speak while a spy is stalking you.

If they can see an indicator, they are far more likely to strike while you can't do anything.

Hmm, actually, you guys are probably right... it would just make them more likely to attack you instead of being a nice person and waiting for you to have a chance...

EDIT: Server not on the list now.

I usually try to examine everyone I see but I didn't that time. Might be because I was starting to lose oxygen and stuff.

This is why you don't have me be the captain, by the way. I don't know what I am doing. Who knows what would happen if it forced me to be the AI or some crap =/

In the AI guide on the wikistation, I found THIS!

[qoute]The AI can control any electrical mechanism, provided their control wires haven't been cut[/quote]

AIs can hack into stuff, without their wire. Takes like a minute.. The only thing AIs cant do is restore cut power.

You mention it later, eh, nevermind. =/

Well, I guess I will play some Supreme Commander 2.

Also, AI needs robot. It be slow, of course, but could act just like a human. AI can finely start an engine, and let loose the fire without needing humans! WOOT!

The robot would be short circited by taser fire, and would have high health. It would recover from tasers like a human.

A mobile AI negates almost all of its weaknesses, making it the ultimate role, which is not in the best interests of anyone, since that makes the game way less fun.

I want a monkey over haul before the AI gets robots.
Because monkeys can offer really great RP if we fix them enough.

What does a random back story actually entail?
Ok, so lets say your name is Bob Chan.

--
Your Name is Bob Chan.
You personally know Leroy Richard from your space college years.
He was always stealing your books.

He killed your brother in a car accident, 4 years ago.

You later met him in life, where you were able to get a great job he always wanted. He's had a grudge from then on.

--
Your name is Leroy Richard.
You personally know Bob Chan from your space college years.
He always let you borrow his books, when you forgot yours.

You once let Bob score a sweet job you wanted, when he was down on his luck.

You have slight memory problems, you often forget important events.
This was caused by a car accident you were once in. You broke your leg, but they were able to replace it with a prototype metal prosthetic one.

--
They were both randomly generated personalities, which, while the player can play his character however he wants, affects the wording of their history.

Or did we decide to scrap this idea, and the random back story was the randomly generated main lore story thingy?

This is a pretty cool idea. I like it. At present, roleplaying on SS13 consists of

"I am a crew member. I am like everybody else. Except my role is engineer, so I get insulated gloves."

And then we grief a lot and eventually die. I only get good roleplay if I happen to spawn in the same room as somebody.
