Hmm, am I the only one that thinks we should eventually get a fresh topic for this? (Of course, it would have a link to this one)
But anyways, that four hour game someone mentioned earlier started out with someone teaching me how to start the engine, then for a long while nothing much happened. For some reason I could access everything on the ship so i started screwing around the the solar panels and stuff, but I don't know if they even do anything right now.
By the time people started to join the engine had died down and I forgot to put more fuel in it, so we grabbed the beer lockers and were going to have a little party in the medical bay (the only area still with functioning lights). Then a few more people joined and it was getting crowded, so it turned into "let's get this random rabble of people organized and fix the damn station' sort of thing.
I still want to learn how to properly operate some of the other parts of the ship, like atmospherics. I think I figured out how those filter things work (it 'releases' in the direction the red part is right?)
About atmospherics. Every single round the air pressure near the medical bay steadily increases for some strange reason. It's nothing serious but I don't think it should be happening in the first place. What's also strange is the eastern maintenance corridor (directly across from the maintenance hall) has so little air pressure you can't even breathe without internals... I'm pretty sure that's not normal either...
I also want to know what the plasma research area does, and perhaps how to even run it. Is it another power source for the ship? Because if so, learning how to use it would be helpful.
EDIT: Forgot to comment on Apple's fruit sprites. I don't like how there's a white background on them, it would look a bit annoying in the game. Second, it doesn't really fit with the art style of the game. I'm sure you could go into paint or photoshop and just convert them into sprite-looking sort of dealies rather easily. i mean, it's just fruit, right? nothing complex.
