The only issue would be during the summer, but out in Alberta, the weather is VERY harsh in the winter and the land is perfect for farming, so the only question is being able to hold them out during the summer, as defenses can easily be improved during the winter.

Only issue is that I am in Ontario, not Alberta :(

And what exactly is a zombie robot? A rusting heap of metal which walks around, infecting other machines? Should I worry about my laptop?

We make underground vaults near underground rivers.  We live in these.  The exhaust ports for ventilation would have to be high up on a sheer cliff, so as to prevent sabotage.

We'd get our power from the core, and if possible, solar panels in the same place as the ventilation exhaust.

What if they were a rare breed of flight-capable raptors? With cyborg enhancements?

Not as unterrifying (not a real word) as the huggy bunny scenario. They hug. And make sandwiches when you want them to stop hugging. Somehow that's supposed to bring about the end of humanity.
