Twenty wasted shells.

It's interesting that dwarves don't care about the ingredients of a meal, except the ones in their profiles, only how well it's cooked.

This masterfully cooked plump helmet roast, consisting entirely of masterfully minced plump helmets, is succulent and delicious. Gourmet cuisine, indeed.

Twenty wasted shells.

I currently have over 300 prepared turtles in barrels, as well as a 10 x 10 refuse pile completely full of turtle shells, i aint short of shells :P

Oh that's not that bad.  At least it kind of makes sense.  It's like ground beef or turtle tartare or something.

After 2 consecutive dragon attacks I got prepared meals from 4 pieces dragon meat worth A whole lot, unfortunately I didn't write down the value as they were eaten very quickly. I managed to forbid a single piece of dragon meat though, I've still got it and it's worth 1900 Dwarfbucks!

How did you get all those turtle?

Fishing. I had 5 extra points left over on my mason when i embarked so i gave him proficiency in Fishing so he'd have something to do until i started mass-producing doors.

In the time between embarking and late autumn when i started serious door\chair\table production he fished both rivers dry (and somehow survived the giant masses of carp, milkfish, tigerfish, crocodiles, alligators and hippos that inhabit them) and filled up both my food stockpiles with turtles.
