When hitting a protected person, would the attacker be given any hint as to whether they hit a body double, bodyguard, protector, or the Exty's personal shield?

If a body double is hit, the killer won't find out until the next day. A killer will know if they kill a bodyguard instead. A protector or Exterminator's shield will be indistinguishable to the killer.

2. If a bodyguard protects a Mad Scientist with a body double, does the body double survive if attacked?

The Body Double is saved until there is a need for it.

Yes, yes, yes.

And it's protector, not surgeon. Just a technical term, of course, but it helps my story writing.

@Zai - well, yes, but I can't just let everyone pick what they want. Wouldn't be much fun that way.

The + and - reflect the effect of that role on the game balance. The game tries to end up at 0 when all the roles are placed.

Oh, in that case, how many tests have you run? Is their one setup that seems to dominate all others? Just wondering, cause I don't really know how perl works.

I seem to get a good mix of stuff. Nothing with my current power set up comes out as being overly unbalanced too much. Every once in a while I see one come through that looks like the combination of roles would be too much, especially on the dopp side. But I can just manually filter those out. When I see them.
