I've never used traps for more than a small entryway that wasn't the main one. I tend to rely on my dwarves for protection, just so I can get to use soldiers. If I didn't care about the style, I'd just use traps. ::)

Use the orc mod! also for bonus points mod it so there are 4 orc civs and they are each active in a different season.

The only *fair* use for weapon traps is a torture pit. I don't think any respectable dwarf could tell you that putting a berserk elven diplomat into a silver whip filled pit is unfair. It takes care of the elves one layer of skin at a time...

And cage traps to snag hippos for farming purposes.
