Site Request
« on: May 07, 2009, 10:49:58 pm »

Hey there,

Nothing to exotic, but does someone have a see for a normal size site in a good align area, with sand, magma, flux, iron, bauxite and water source? Fresh or salty doesn't matter. And a decent amount of trees.

Everything else is option, doesn't need a chasm, or hfs (if it does, I would prefer not to know), I don't care who has access to the site.

I had a site just like this for one fort I was working on a little while ago.  I might still have it somewhere, although I've never tried to share worldgen info on how to generate it, so if someone could post on how to or a link on how to do it, it would be appreciated.  Also, I believe that world was made with the Legendary Lands mod, not sure if that would affect things or not.

PS:  I should say that I think the only civs listed on the embark for it were humans and dwarves, which was part of the reason why I stopped playing that one.

If you count sieges as an iron source it gets easier still.

What a cruel dwarfstard!
But its better to plunder them first by deconstructing the depot.
Then built a new depot and magma those foolish elvishlings.

It was for an experiment to start a fire over open ground.

I tried one of those. All features on one map. 0 FPS after a few years. Had to give dwarves [SPEED:1] to make it remotely playable, but I think the invaders and local wildlife hate me now..

Hate you? I think they even don't catch the vision of a dwarf flying around at sublight speed.

I'm now playing the map 4*4 with all the features. ;-)

Yes, they hate me. From a gobbos perspective: "Flash McGordonist has launched you across the map, caught up with your flying mangled body and midair-bashed you against a rock. You have been struck down AND you did not even see him."

Standard world, seed 866543904 should solve your problems. The only thing I'm not sure about is iron because I didn't do any exploratory mining yet. You will have to tweak the history seed to make the area good-aligned if that's a hard requirement.

Site has limestone, bauxite, sand, open magma pipe, a freshwater brook with lots of carp (yeah it's not a mistake) and tons of trees, all packed in 2x3 area. :-)

Seems to be the way with things on this forum; if an invention doesn't involve death by magma then you know someone's going to go out of their way to make sure it does involve death by magma... then it gets acknowledged as being a great invention.
