Clearly, the solution is to steal your arm, with a hacksaw :x

What the world really needs is the TRUTH PIMP! He can pimp slap people to make them tell to the truth.

He's always keepin' his pimp hand strong.

Never heard of Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth? It's used as a whip a lot. A feminist chick with a truth whip pwns Truth Pimp.

The ability to find perfect embark locations in dwarf fortress

Or better:

The ability to create any embark feature in real life. Stand ontop of a mine, and create HFS!   ;D

The power to make things spin at a speed completely under your control.

It may sound silly, but if you really think about it, there are a lot of ways you could apply that to fight crime.  It could even be used for transportation and eliminating certain natural threats, such as tornadoes.

I always thought the ability to not continuously spill things on myself would be nice, or at least the ability to clean it up afterwards.

This thread started out very silly, and has only gotten sillier.

I remember a question from a game of some sort asking "Would you like very powerful superpower that everyone knows about or a less awesome super power that is kept secret?"

The second one, no question about it.

Well, wait, exactly what power levels are we talking here?  Because stuff like "super strength" and "can cure with a touch" would be kind of annoying to have everyone know about, while "being Superman" would be powerful enough to be worthwhile...not to mention that you'd be a lot harder to assassinate.

If everyone's going to know about me, invulnerability is a requirement.

Lesser superpower for sure.  I'd feel like such a slacker if I could shoot deadly lasers from my nose but wasn't out saving the world all the time.  With great power comes great responsibility and a never ending stream of commitments.  I'd always got another terrorist plot to stop when I just want to stay home and use my lasers to make nachos.  Whenever you fail to stop something bad, I'd feel guilty and everyone would complain about how bad a superhero I am.  I'd have to go out there busting my ass all the time stopping a bunch of pretty criminals but the whole time I'd be powerless to reform the system that made them criminals in the first place.

If all I could do is telekenetically melt cheese to make the perfect nachos, I wouldn't have any of those problems.  I'd just be a lazy slacker with really good nachos.

One super power that everyone would need would be the power to automatically and fully perform an action with flawless results. Thus ending the need to make bad mistakes.

Gravity control and local gravity manipulation. Creating a planet crushing tug inside of your enemies heart? Hell yes! Watching a basketball game on TV and screwing with the gravity every time the other team makes a shot, thereby ensuring your team wins? Hell yes! Using gravity to locally negate the Earths tug, and instead pull yourself around with small gravity wells, thereby acheiving flight? Hell yes!

You've got a point about gravity.  Much more potential than spinning.  You could have a gravitational shield-type thing around you so that nothing could reach you without being crushed.

Anyway, a good one would be Dr. Manhattan-style matter manipulation.  Turn a guy to glass, turn bullets to water, turn the floor into lava.  Good stuff.

If not that, Magneto's power would rock.  I don't see why people think it's lame.

I don't want super powers: I just want a decent baseball bat. I'd roam around beating the shit out of people and telling them I'm Bat-man.

If that fails I can always go back to being Knifeman.

"Knifeman? He ain't got no powe...oh shit, I'm bleedin'!"
