No state should hold the capitol. It should remain a none a state for the purposes of federal gov. treating all state as equal as possible.

Sigh. Things are even more fucked up that I thought.

I bet at least 20% of Americans don't even know what DC stands for.

(District Columbia. There. Now it's 19.85%)

Isn't it District of Columbia?

Just like USA is United States of America. But I guess this deserves mention.

Haha you're not a state. No voting representation for you. Isn't that about to change?

I'm not from D.C. but I lived in Bethesda, Maryland, right next door for a couple years.  I was born in Minnesota and have lived the longest in Easton, Maryland (a town on the eastern, hick half of the state) but have also lived for years in Bethesda and Delaware before going to college in Philadelphia.

Most Americans think that it's called District of Columbia because it was originally owned by the nation of Columbia.

Shock though it may be to find this out, but that is not the case. "Columbia" was pretty much the pre-1900 version of Uncle Sam, and referred to the whole American Continent(s).

That and it's the largest consumer of coffee per capita in the US.

Most insignificant state of the U.S, Little Rhody. :P

Hey at least we got trees and any part of this damn state is within half an hour of the shore.

If that looks familiar, it's because Dallas was used as the backdrop set of Robocop.

That's also our one square mile of skyline-worthy buildings.  The city stretches over more area than Vermont, but no other building is more than 10 stories tall.

Not really, just some native american sympathizer's idea of a state, atleast that's what I remember.

At least your pitiful skyline is made of actual buildings and not this terrible neon facade that we've got.
