Sora and Kane
Aren't those some androgynous Final Fantasy characters, or some shit like that?

So Strife looks just like a girl and/or is gay. Hmm.

What a tweest.

Kane is one of original badass fantasy characters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kane_(fantasy). He's fun becuase he doesn't die. Sora is almost a FF character (kingdom hearts actually). He's relevant becuase Strife never knows exactly what a new place is going to be like.

Strife is a nicer Kane or a much meaner Sora.

S'cool Strife.  And it's not a blowgun he's talking about, it's a crossbow, but "crossbow" wouldn't fit in the namespace, so it's called a bowgun.  It's pretty good too, I often give them to my Beast Tamers

I wouldn't mind a crossbow then.

I think it means all of his characters are translations of the same basic character, adapted for whatever genre they happen to be represented in. Kinda like an Archetype he made up, or an over-stylized archetype.

I had something like that before. As long as it stays in the realm of characters representing yourself, it is fine. When it comes to storytelling, you will want to use something a bit more fresh.

I've always tried to act against single forms when I've gotten involved in online stuff.  Except here, because I had the lack of foresight to use a pic of Ben as an avatar, and you all boxed me into an erudite Ben-like hybrid.

I changed from the green U. I'm sure you could do something different.

 Just screw all petty whines.

Well lets see....

All humans can be a soldier, ninja, archer, knight, wizard, cleric, priest, ghost, angel knight, or lich.
Male humans can also be a swordsmaster, dragoon, warlock, or beast master.
Female humans can be a witch, siren (highest INT growth of any class BTW), valkyrie, or dragon tamer.

There's also several demibeasts and beasts...
Half-beasts include hawkmen, mermaids, giants, nagas, gremlins, and fairies.
Beasts include dragons, cockatrices, cerberi, griffons, and octopi.

Whew... oh plus there's a couple types of undead people besides ghosts, but we can't play as them. They're basically soldiers and wizards that can be exorcised and have the 'revive after three turns' thing.

Oh and I suppose there's also the 'special characters', such as Euphaire (Summoner), Saia (half-demon), or Rictor (high priest). Obviously these people can't be renamed.

And yes I do have a guide, but I've also played through the game a few times.

I must note the stark difference between the first Tactics Ogre game and this one, when the developers discovered FF Tactics had a good plan and decided to screw their previous format, which I approve of.

Spoiler: Game (click to show/hide)

Aaand a couple of people got changed around a bit, inventory-wise mostly...

Spoiler: Statuses (click to show/hide)

Vlynndar gets to join in the next city, which also happens to be the next fight. Well, I might do an encounter to get Joshua's three kills, but... you know.

Yeah basically any high-end class changing is postponed until we pass about, oh, level 10 in terms of experience.

Dual wielding a gun and a sword is as much as I can ask for.

"We're going to kill mermaids now? Is that legal here?"
