{Succession} Roaredattics: The Eternal Seige.
« on: May 04, 2009, 10:58:26 am »

The Rules:

1: All dorfs must be named with an adjective ending in y. Like Sneezy, or Dopey. Including immigrants.

2: This place is going to be seiged (hopefully) by numerous races. Goblins and kobolds, but there are more ferocious races, sharpening their blades.

3: This fortress is to be themed as a military base.

4: Normal succession game rules are also in effect. Each turn must be at least 1 season, up to 1 year.

Or try FUBAR! The best chocolate bar ever!
And you can't eat them, either, sadly. Even though it'd make sieges so much more fun; dwarves lining the walls, drooling and carrying sharp knives and forks, ready for the upcoming meals.

ctually, my friend, you are running a Succession game, not a community. Communities are actually just one person playing, where other people make a claim of one or more dwarves.

This is Dwarf Fortress! If we can chuck magma at innocent wildlife, we can do ANYTHING!

It was at this point that I realised that dwarves are actually the essence of chaos. What else can make perpetual motion machines, recursive statues with more building materials than the average tower and has such a short attention span that a damn fine chair can off-set the death of their entire family.

So? Are you joining?

Remember, your turn can be as little as one season if you don't have the time to play longer.

I would like to join but preferably no earlier than the second or, even better, third year.

Seems to be the way with things on this forum; if an invention doesn't involve death by magma then you know someone's going to go out of their way to make sure it does involve death by magma... then it gets acknowledged as being a great invention.

Oh! And major warning: Build up defenses really early. One of my most important dorfs was killed in mid-summer in the same fortress location by wild beasts.

Oh! And if it's not too late, I found a better embark location and fixed it so one of the races has arms.

The Peasant bites You in the lower body!
It is ripped into loose shreds!
You have been struck down.

Badass peasant here.

Second game. Delete the first.

Also, that bout with the peasant was me testing one of the new races in adventure mode. I fought with a peasant, while I had lots of points in wrestling.
