What are the issues at hand?

Page 13. Emmanovi is our chairman for this season, so look for his post with all the issues on it, listing the yeas and nays from each Dwarf.

Key please.

^ > v by the bridges is which way they should raise, filled in triangles are the ramps, for the aesthetic "bridge" over the gear shaft. Without looking at the map, itself, and being familiar with the key that the game uses, it's going to be difficult to explain it. t = door, D = wardog chained up, o/ = lever, * = gear, === is the gearshaft, > is stairs down, X is stairs both up and down, drawn ^s are traps, and their color determines what kind; green being cage and gray being stone-fall.

Cool. Where can I see the fortress?

This: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1057 is a link to the save file. You can download that, unzip it and pop it into your .../DF/data/save/ folder, and then you should be able to load up the fort as any other.

Alternatively, Lav has uploaded a couple of versions of the map onto the handy DF-map-site that I don't know the name of off the top of my head, but I don't think it's been updated yet.

What are the issues at hand?

There is an updated list towards the end of page 13 of this thread.

However, there are still 2 and a half hours left in which to propose new motions.

I move that Legon act as director the next season, should he accept my nomination.

I move that Goron serve as our next chairman, should he accept my nomination.

Cool. Where can I see the fortress?

You should definitely read the seasonal updates. You can skip most of the rest, but Emmanovi took some very nice, big screenshots of the fall. Hey, how'd you get such nice resolution, Emmanovi? Is it only possible with whatever mod you're using?

One can change the window size in the init file; my game is, as far as I am aware, unmodded (oh, apart from removing the catspam messages). There's a handy page in the wiki, but essentially it involves increasing the number of tiles on the grid and then adjusting the resolution to accomodate them. I believe the blocks are something like 12 pixels down by 8 across.

If you're at all interested, here's a copy-paste from my init file...

After having a peek around the fortress I motion that we have 1 z-level taller walls that extend into the wills to the west and (seperate notion) that the walls can have marksdwarves posted on them

Hm.  Well, I have exams monday, tuesday, and wednesday this coming week, but after that, I'm free because then "Schooools-Out-For-Summah!".  So it might be best if someone else is up next term for the time being.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

I concur. List updated to reflect this.

I nominate Goron for both roles, then, or whichever he'd prefer, if either. Blah blah blah. :P

I vote against the movement to expand the wall system while our first tier isn't even finish. It's a job for next year. Let's get some basic defenses in position before we start setting up catwalks for marksdwarves we don't even have yet. I do support digging away the slope to complete the western wall, though. I don't support constructing a wall on the slope, though. Just dig the slope away.

The time for making motions has passed. There are now under 24 hours for any motions unseconded to be seconded, and under 48 for them to be voted upon.

Let it be noted that with 10 dwarves, a majority vote is 6 ayes or nays.

List of motions moved ahead.

I am for the chaining of war dogs and against the breeding of livestock such as horses and I am most definitely against the breeding of cats.

List updated.

Goron, could you comment on whether you are happy to take Winter and be the next chairdwarf? Otherwise the motion will technically fail at 01:15. I worry about this.

EDIT: Corrected time. Silly me.

The time for seconding motions has passed. There are now around 23 hours remaining for votes to be cast and discussions to be held. Currently, all the motions that have been seconded will succeed. Considering we should have 7 active dwarves, there is a scope for majority of 6 to be achieved, however this has so far not happened. If those who wish to bring others to their side would like to do so, this is the time to do it; some people have voted on some motions but not others, they may now wish to voice their opinion.

A reminder, the voting will close at 01:15 GMT on the 2nd of June.

We have yet to elect a governer and chairdwarf for the next term. Grail motioned that Goron take both of these roles, but this motion failed as he did not respond in that time. Personally I did not second as there was no indication that Goron was willing to take the roles.

At this stage I advise that someone volunteers to take the turn themselves, rather than being nominated by others. I am aware that Legon is busy in the coming days and does not wish to take the turn, but I don't think anyone else has voiced their intent or availability.

As chairdwarf, I will wait until the end of voting to see if there are any volunteers. If no-one puts themselves forward as able to take the turn, then at that point I suggest that I will take Winter unless anyone disagrees. I would very much prefer to give someone else the chance, and will support anyone, a newcomer or an original founder, to take the season, but as current chairdwarf, I feel I must keep this moving somehow.

Reminder: with 10 dwarves, a majority vote is 6 ayes or nays.

List of motions, will be updated:

- Wall to be added in front of reservoir door, seconded.
--Support: Grail, Legon, Org, Emmanovi, Goron

- Outer walls and moat to be finished, seconded.
-- Support: Grail, Legon, Org, Emmanovi, Goron
