Dwarf Manager Help

So I have been running dwarf manager for a while now with no problems (on d9 and d11), but recently when I start it up and hit load it hasn't done anything. I mean, no dwarves pop up and nothing happens (except for this one time just the tax collector appeared, it was kind of wierd). Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Did I mess something up with my comp running some other program?

I noticed that a modded Dwarf Fortress game will sometimes not work with Dwarf Manager.
I used to play a slight modified Civ Forge mod and no dwarf appeared in the manager list.
Going back to the vanilla DF fixed that.
