Geez, if you're going to make a file sharing site, then don't call it The Pirate Bay! The other file sharing sites aren't getting sued, because they didn't come up with a name that shoves a middle finger in the faces of copyright holders. No opinion on piracy, but if you're openly going against law that way, getting sued is a matter of time

Not putting an opinion into this heated debate, Simply asking: If the Pirate Bay were to share files from international waters could they still be sued? This is how radio stations worked around the laws on copyright and broadcasting which in turn gave pirating (file sharing version) it's name.

Pretty sure this trial was only the first level, TPB team is appealing to the next level which will give them a more fair trial.

Yep, The Pirate Bay-folks are convinced they will wriggle out of this one, especially as they pointed out that the judge who decided they were guilty is a member of a large pro-copyright group.

This trial will go on for years and no one has to go to jail or pay fines until it's over.

They actually did try to buy the micronation of Sealand at one point but didn't manage to scrape together enough money.

 I for one am outraged by the courts decision,- even MORE outraged that the judge was discovered to be a member of pro-copyright organizations. I demand a retrial, and the heads of a few nobles.

Not that I actually pirate, - I just feel the need for some lazy distributors to have their teeth kicked in for being a inefficient strain on the economy and our culture.
