Screw Pump power issue, wiki doesn't make sense

So I have a series of screw pumps stack ontop of each other with the bottom most screw pump receiving power.

I know the bottom one is receiving power as when I turned it on for a quick test, they lightly flooded the main gear room.
How do you power the differing z level pumps?

The wiki said that they would draw power from one another if stacked ontop of each other, with a channel dig on the receiving end.

I have that, or think I do.

Suggestions, or more clarification needed?
