If i throw enough goblins into a pit, can i get an actually pool of blood? as in like 7/7 Blood, instead of 7/7 Water?

Not yet. Not yet....

Next release should have blood acting more like a liquid.

A bloodening chamber?

What other properties will it have?  Edible/drinkable?

The dwarven economy is just a stand-in, from what I understand. As it is, it represents an actual economic system about as well as poison ivy represents a salad.

Only if you lay down a magma tunnel under it and heat it.

You could always dump them into semi shallow water. The blood will stain it red.

I once had a river with a really tall waterfall. After a few seasons, all the fish were deceased, the river was red, and I had pieces of pike floating around. It was horrible awesome.

Unfortunately blood drowning chambers don't work, the Elves just drink it...

Drinkable or edible blood would make for a good vampire mod. Can't really see a vampiric Dwarf sitting down to a blood roast though.

I think Toady said something about the "blood as a liquid" mechanics being way too complicated. But we can still dream.

My idea was to put grates in the jail and bedrooms, with a run off into the pool for blood. That way when nobles had dwarfs beat to death, their blood would flow into the pool. After a noble ordered enough beating for the blood to fill the pool, i would have him pull the lever to the drowning chamber.

*Poof!*

Baron cancels pull lever: Drowning in blood of the innocent! ;D

Do you think it would work if he just modeled it after water, but changed the name and had creatures drop a 1/7 Blood when they died?

Only if you used acid blood ;D

You're missing a very important factor here:  While blood-baths (pun intended) may not be going in soon/at all, there ARE apparently plans to allow for a literal Whiskey River.  :)

I plan to flood my dining hall to 3/7 with booze, and let my peons get tanked WHILE they learn to swim..
