As the above said, you cannot. You must first upload it to a website. Some free image hosting sites are Imageshack and Photobucket. You can also host on your own webspace if you have one.

Once uploaded, you need to find the direct link to the image (Imageshack places it near the top of the upload result page, in big font, and in a big yellow box) which will look like this:

Code: [Select]
http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/7108/plumproast.png
and place it within img tags like this:
Code: [Select]
[img]http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/7108/plumproast.png[/img]

And here is the result:

are there really that many ways to mince a Plump helmet?

Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

What does tinypic have over other sites?

I started using photobucket only because I saw other people using it. The banner ads are a bit annoying, but that is what you get for a free service I guess. Other than that, I have been pretty satisfied.

Tinypic does not have banner ads.  Nor does it appear in tiny annoying thumbnails that spam you with pop-ups when you click on them.

Your pics never get deleted either, and, (hence the name), it provides you with a small url, to be used in signatures.

Photobucket doesn't give thumbnails.

I haven't had a pic deleted either.

Haven't had a pop-up ever when Using Photobucket too, even when I used IE.

Actually some forums have an "upload image" feature. You simply upload the images directly from your computer to the forum's server. No image hosting site is needed in that case.  :)
