"And so you see" Explaned Jennifer, as she and John moved down the hallway "the problem is not that there is anything special about making them, it's getting hold of the materials"

"Well, if that's true, then we better go send someone up to get it" responded John, looking over a few documents for that years budget. "I think that our men deserve a little fun"

Jen grinned. oh yes, they will be very happy to hear the news. she rushed out, ready to give orders. John smiled. Such enthusiasm. As john rounded the corner to his office, richard stood outside. he looked quite worried.

"What's the matter?" asked John sarcastically "Do you lose a bet?"

"There's someone waiting in there for you"

Curious, John entered to find a huge man inside, standing by the window, looking out to the courtyards below. "This could have been my fathers" he said, pausing for effect. "this castle, this kingdom, this chair..." the man moved towards the thrown, placing his hands on the back rest "but it was all snatched away, his untimely death taking him away. Such an unfortunite accident, wasn't it?" the man looked towards John, and he saw in his eyes a clear and focused anger.

John was neither scared nor amused "I had nothing to do with your father death, and murdering me will not solve anything"

"You are the murderer"

"Leave" ordered John. with that, the man left, rage still in his eyes. John only sighed. 10 years now. time waits for no one.

The increased supply of gold leads to a boom in commerce as more and more hard currency becomes available again. As it becomes clear that the increasingly crowded streets are becoming less and less conducive to business transactions, merchants begin gravitating towards a previously little-used square in the ruins of Old Antemnon. Known informally as The Pit for its low-lying location nestled below the river bluffs, it soon becomes the de facto center of the city's commerce; although its dilapidated setting turns off some traders initially, enterprising merchants gradually rebuild the square into a grand (in a utilitarian sort of way) marketplace.

The general abundance of food, money, and supplies does much to ease the peoples' concerns; crowding continues to be a problem, but at least no shortages seem imminent. As the raiders fade from memory the city gradually returns to normalcy. The workshops continue to produce gear of war, but without the sweeping military allocations of years past most people begin to take this for granted. More and more of the Asykos find the free time to pursue further learning in the New Library; with the military production program rapidly losing priority, Ramades finds himself in the library more and more, contributing his recent practical experiences to the scholars' study of improved mining techniques.

I altered my turn slightly, to train another unit of warriors. Sure they're obsolete, but that doesn't make them completely useless.

Okay. Remember they can't attack this turn, though.

Of course. I just really, really hate leaving my capital undefended (Bandits! I must not invoke Murphy's Law if I can avoid it), and need all my troops for the upcoming battle. It may be a close one, unless I get lucky. 4 units vs 5 units is not a happy fight. (I assume he's going to be training another unit).

Oh, and Pandarsenic: Post. The goblins demand it!

Training one unit? What do you think that military school is, a decoration?

Didn't see that. Throws my carefully laid out plans off slightly, but I think I still have a chance to win the war. Eventually. If not, I can still put up a good fight, I think.

Well, that was an interesting battle. Had to run it twice because I forgot about a rather important order Panda had given, which made a huge difference. Also luck. Lots of luck. There are no actual critical hits in this system, but man, when the dice fall the right way...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Edit: Also, it looks like I won't have time to update the OP tonight after all. That took... well, almost exactly twice as long as it should have.

D: Could you explain? Also, which order?
Also, my "400 dead civilian miners" appears to push me to 15,998 civilians. Do I seriously get deprived of my 16th unit of labor from this? If so, I disband my cavalry and return their equipment to my stockpiles and set them to work so I do get my 16th labor point. :I Dremmeur Sai and Keyiro Mitheinous may be required to work like everyone else for a turn to make up that last labor point.
