Glrk'nr was speaking with Stozuagun. "Good, good. Without food the halflings soon starve. Head back out there and continue the war. Xengbubukza will train fresh reserves for next year, and I think the time is finally ripe to build that mage school. Now go, while they're weakened. Finish them off, I want new slaves to work in the mine."

Stozuagun saluted and walked off to his awaiting troops. "Alright troops, let's move out. Those pathetic halflings are half-starved and likely licking their wounds from last year. This will be an easy battle. Victory to Zrlv!"

If I don't then the halflings will have time to recover. Press the attack, but the new orders are to pillage farmlands and starve them rather then directly assaulting the city.

John leaned back on his thrown. Ah, peace at last. Now with those two crazy bas...uh, eccentric advisers gone, John can now finally get a full nights sleep. If it was not Richard's absurd mandates, it was Jen's ludicrous "plans". Tom was still around, but with the research team's (to say that without irony is quite a relief) advances in "mechanics" made the man like a Demon at a nunnery. With the colony set up, a few have complained that they are defenseless. Reassignment has already begun, and another group is being trained to replace them. Aside from the mundane task such as keeping everyone feed, this is going to be an easy...

There is a knock.

"Yes?"

A few men walk in, carrying large wheel barrels of paperwork.

"Before the Governor left, he stated that you should be able to take his duties"

They left the paper on John's desk, and left as fast as they came, leaving a little mountain for John to dig through later.

"...when are they coming back?"

Glrk'nr looked at Stozuagun in shock as he delivered news of his defeat.. "What?!"

The general looked back sheepishly. "The halflings killed nearly our entire military. There are more of them then we expected. We need more troops, to-"

Glrk'nr raised his hand and made a gesture, and his personal bodyguards shackled the luckless general in chains. Stozuagun was speechless. "You have been useful in the past, so you shall live, but for now ..." He shook his head, and the general was carried off to Glrk'nr's personal dungeon. The leader sighed sighed. "Perhaps we've been going about this wrong." He checked his map. "Hmmm....yes." He began to write, then spoke to an awaiting messanger when he finished. "The river flows downstream from us. Throw wool into the river to block it, and the halflings will have a very rough year. He turned to another messanger as the first departed. "You, go tell the sages to begin training some blood-casters, then have the smiths produce more armor. We'll win this with heavy infantry after Stozuagun is finished figuring out his mistakes."

"Nothing?" John asked, looking up from his papers. He had been buried ever since Richard and Jen had left, and now could not believe that he would want them back so bad. The two advisers stood in front of him, their normal devil-may-care smiles now replace with hanging heads. Two years, wasted, and now the masses are...well, roughly the same amount of malevolence, but now they're starting to focus that anger, and a mob of Banerianites with a single focus was a force that would make gods shake in their theological boots.

"So what do we do?" Asked Richard. He looked as if he had suffered from man cuts and bruises, although John was sure aside from his favorite outfit, the only thing really injured was his pride. John and Jen were unsure on how to proceed, but soon an intelligent gleam shown in his eyes, and after planted a foot on top of the desk (a mud encrusted boot, John noted) and yelled "Let them have bread and circuses!"

Strife, that's nowhere near enough labor for your steel equipment. Each unit of steel takes 2 labor in addition to the wood and iron, and you don't (yet) have a building to reduce the cost.
