Yeah, I've got it for 15$ too, you just have to look for special pricing events . I didn't have L4D1, so I don't care if it's an expansion pack or new game.

You can play L4D1 campaigns in L4D2. So basically I've got 2 games for 15$, not bad.

So yeah, if I had L4D1, I'd think. But without it, I'm fine with this purchase.

You can't. Some people are remaking the maps from L4D1 to L4D2, but they don't run without resources from the first game, due to them not wanting to get hit with a cease and desist.

Sigh... I never understand why I always have ridiculous multiplayer problems with left 4 dead. The first one was bad enough, constantly throwing me into ridiculous high ping situations (500 - 600 ping) but at least that one could be solved through "openserverbrowser" and finding one with normal latency.

Now with Left 4 Dead 2, even if openserverbrowser tells me that my ping for that server is 50, when I join, it spikes up to 600 - 1000 easily. I can disable all the graphics and it doesn't make a lick of a difference. I don't even run firewalls on my computer, so that can't be a problem. Of course, I can play TF2 and Modern Warfare 2 with no problems whatsoever. Heck, I can use three different internet connections (mine, my neighbour's, my school's) and it's still terrible.

What I've done right now is hack into some other poor person's wifi. I'm guessing my internet, my nieghbour, and my school all use the same ISP provider, which throttles L4D for some reason. This other one seems good.

I've been playing a lot of this.

And by playing, I mean "waiting for an Advanced difficulty game, joining, finding a server, starting and finding out that it's a local game, quitting, restarting the search, joining a new game, find I have a >200 ping, quitting and repeating".

I can play with up to about 150 and still be effective, but after that it just ends up being crotch-punchingly frustrating. And freindly firing up the wazoo.

Still, the characters aren't as bad as I thought they'd be.

I think with some of the newer weapons like the military sniper rifle, the witch has definitely lost her potency. There's so many easy ways to kill her now. Maybe we could have a silent witch in the future and people accidentally startle her, as they are supposed to.
