I wonder if we can have a mode where you get to have EIGHT survivors?
There is and the infected team has 8 players too. Some time ago I managed to get on to one of these 16 player matches and Solarn joined me. As you'd expect, it's chaotic fun. Especially with some mods that are implemented with the player caps, like bigger hordes, faster tongues and two tanks spawning at once.

Even with just the 3 infected, the number of nasty strategies goes up significantly when you can have multiple smokers and boomers. I can't even imagine the traps possible in L4D2 8vs8. Also, it'd be neat if the 8 player survivor side had the original survivors with the new ones.

EDIT: Few pieces of news:
First, Valve moved the release to a day earlier, to make it available on the 17th everywhere in the world, not just the US. We'll see if they actually manage to release on time.

Second, L4D just updated adding 4vs4 matchmaking, finally.

Okay, I figured out how to play as a Tank...

With cheats on, just play as the infected as usual.  However, when you die, open the console and type in "z_spawn tank".  If the command is processed while you're still dead, then you will be reincarnated on the spot as a Tank.

Doing this while alive will simply spawn an AI-controlled Tank.

DAMNATION! That's how you've got those tanks so often :). They are really party-killers.

Also, I was alone for a reason. I was sacrificing myself to force the bots to go forward. They usually move VERY slow, staying at one place forever, but every time I was knocked down far ahead the script "save the buddy" was initiated and the whole horde of survivors rushed ahead to help me up and to move on. I find no fun sitting at one place, I like to change environment :).

P.S. Also it was fun to sit at the end of some valley far ahead with a sniper and to kill you while there're no other zombies around and you just exit spawn areas.

P.P.S. A pile of boomers and spitters coming to us and surrounding us while we WATCH CINEMATICS is ubergay >.<.

Deon, Itnetlolor, and Kagus.  You're all getting the full game, right?  'Cause I am and I would want to have us do a full run of this brahsomeness.

EDIT:

Also, yeah.  Mad survivors were running around.  HILARIOUS.  I nearly fell out of my chair when the WEAPON DROPS RAN OUT.

Also, double yeah.  Deon, you need to stick with your group.

Yes, I was pretty sure that no way I am paying for this game because it's just an expansion so why does it cost so much etc... But then I thought wait, I don't have the original game either, so why not. Also I enjoyed to play with you, and it's a big plus too.

I'm actually not sure I'll be getting the full game...  I mean, sure, this is fun and all, but is there much more to be gained by having the full deal over the demo?  New maps are always nice, but that's pretty much it as far as I can tell.  And I don't particularly feel like paying $50+ for a bonus map pack.

In fact, I don't really feel like paying $50+ for much of anything.  I'm notoriously thrifty.

But, the holiday season is coming up, so I might be able to convince someone else to pay for it.  But I'd still only do that if I feel I'm really getting something special out of it.  And there's no guarantee that the "Team Coach" bug/feature will appear outside of the demo.

After the last sessions, I'm convinced on getting the L4D package. Firstly, my primary problem with most next-gen games and multiplayer games was finding others to play with/against; solution is solved thanks to B12. Secondly, there's a decent deal in getting the package right now while I can still afford it. Thirdly, GMOD, simply put.

I might even go the extra mile later and invest in Team Fortress whenever there's a deal on that (there is one, not too special though, but I don't want to spend too much right now).

BTW, Deon, you were doing it wrong. Follow my example when leading-by-rabbiting like I did. I at least led the lemmings near the end to the point that they figured out how to finish all by themselves like big kids.

Additional note: More games need demos to gain interest. L4D2 did it right. I'm keeping the demo for the bugs and zaniness before patchings.
