Atticus' Journal

I was angry earlier. The incident with the boiling imp fat helped give some perspective on things, we're all stuck here together so we may as well make the best of things. Though it appears that others are starting to listen to me more than Bubbles. I can't say I can complain, but, for now I'll have to tell them to keep their grumblings to a minimum. For now we work for the greater good.

Must start on a block palisade. That would greatly help keep everyone safe. I'm getting surprised that we haven't seen any orcs or goblins yet, I keep hearing of massed attacks by those creatures on newly established fortresses. Hopefully we can avoid that. I'll have to see if Bubbles can get me some steel armor and shield. The singe marks on my leathers don't make me comfortable.

Bubbles' Diary from Late Summer to Mid Autmn

Nineteenth Entry: The situation between Bubbles and Atticus has calmed down a bit. Bubbles still don't like him but Bubbles see him working hard and knows this fortress need a hard working wood cutter if want to make ash.

Twentieth Entry: Ypaos has brought in a deer. Bubbles will need someone to turn the fat into tallow quickly!

Twenty first Entry: The deer was turned into tallow and leather, Bubbles is now getting in a steady flow of deer. Bubbles can start work as soon as some bags and vials are made. Atticus is also building a wooden palisade around the central part of our encampment.


Twenty Second Entry: A caravan has arrived and is trading with Bubbles at the depot. Apparently our fortress is a bit of a joke with the hole in the dirt they call a mountain home. They even have their own name for Bubbleses bubble world, they call it The Soapyballs of Fondling. Bubbles doesn't like the name very much, don't understand where they fit balls and fondling into the name. Bubbles thinks this may have something to do with Atticus and his secret letters he is writing, there are definitely no balls of soap here. It is all very confusing. To Bubbles 'The Soapysoap Bubbleworld' would have been a better name.
The caravan did however offer Bubbles some stuff we didn't need and asked us what Bubbles wanted next year. Bubbles told him we need some stone, wood, leather, ash and drink

Twenty Third Entry: The cats and cows have given birth to offspring. This is wonderful news, Bubbles will celebrate by culling the first born and makes soap and bags from the yield.

Location: Forest Road leading to the Fortress, shortly before the arrival of the caravan in the Trade Depot.

"Hello the Caravan!" Atticus yelled as he hung his axe on his belt.

"Hullo axedwarf! Be you the guide from Bubbleworld?" The Caravan Master asked.

"Aye, but to let you know. The official name for this place has changed over the last year."

"Truly? What is that ma... visionary calling it now?"

"Heh... Well, Bubbles may still call it his Soapysoap Bubbleworld. But the rest of us have taken to calling it The Soapyballs of Fondling!" Atticus said with a laugh.

The caravan was forced to stop at that point due to the driver falling off the cart as he laughed. "Gods I'll have t'share that with the mountainhomes. Knowing the clerks it will become the official name of the place!"

Atticus smiled. "B'sure to let Bubbles know what the new name is, I'm sure he'll like it. You should see the ramparts and the trade depot ahead, I have to go fell some trees. Good journey to ye."

"Ye as well, brave denizen of the Soapyballs of Fondling!"

Bubbles' Diary from Mid Autumn to Early Spring

Twenty Fourth Entry:
Bubbles has told Ypaos to stop hunting the deer. We are getting more deer corpses in than Tredgar can process. At the moment Tredgar is taking a break while the corpses root, Bubbles will sort him out. So far we have collected 12 pieces of deer tallow, 6 cow and 1 cat. In other news, Bubbles has also got an alchemists workshop set up. Bubbles will start soAp production soon.

Twenty Fifth Entry:
Nothing much has happened recently. Bubbles has been relaxing around while the palisade is being built, Bubbles has told everyone to do a bit of basic carpentry to speed up the process. Bubbles also got the first bar of soAp out. It was a magical moment when Bubbles mixed the deer tallow and lye.

Twenty Sixth Entry:
This day marks exactly one year at Bubbleworld, Bubbles has been here for a year now although it doesn't really feel like it. Bubbles has drawn up a map of Bubbleworld: Map chest.  At this exact point, bubbles has 22 deer soAps, 6 cow soAps, 1 fox soAp, 1 wolf soap and 1 kitten soap. bubbles also has two dozen blocks of green glass. Bubbles will have to ask the little voice inside of Bubbleses head (OOC: aka you readers) what to do with the soAp.

A giant bar of soap it is. Maybe Bubbles can live in it! Will of coarse need to make more soap, if the construction is to be major. I was kind of wanting a small project using less than 25 bars.
