Captain of the Guard will no longer spar?
« on: April 29, 2009, 04:13:23 pm »

I have a Captain of the Guard that I use as my "Jack-of-all-trades-Elf-slayer-Dorf" whom I want to have all military skills in Legendary. However, I recently tried training her in maces (she was already legendary sword+wrestler+shield) but she stopped at Adept. So I gave her a hammer. By the time a siege comes, I notice she doesn't even have dabbling in it. I try Axes, spears, more axes, no dice. She just sits in her room down in the Nobles' quarters hall.

So what is going on here? I tried locking her out, but she just finds some other place to sit around.

Pms? joke.

Strange, maybe there is a natural limit on how much a dwarf brain can hold.

Does she have any wounds to her nervous system?

Only vaguely. Made of the same substance and put to the same use, but a bit like comparing a castle and a doublewide trailer.

A brown spinal injury... Oh, wait.

Dammit. I forgot that unlike civilian dwarves, all nervous injuries affect military dwarfs. Oh well. This is what cage traps are for, I guess. Locky locky.
