Goblin maceman is offset down by one single pixel line in the image as of 6-08-2009 (paste error?)
Great job so far, looking forward to more! (I check this thread every day!)

P.S. You really should ask toady to add idle/working anims, those would be awesome.

I think DF does not accept animated gif, does it?

Also, beefmo, have you considered adding sprites for mounts? I do not ask for all animals, just mounts. It looks kinda weird when you are sieged by beautiful humans and Hs.

No, it does not, neither in 40D or 40D11.

Been "trying" to sort out a tile set the past couple days in between getting called to help my girlfriend with her sims 3 (which btw is the biggest load of crap ever!). Sadly I'm pretty sure I've given up on doing a tileset until a bigger sheet can be used.. I dont want O's at the ends of my walls! T_T

Anyways, getting back into the spriting action and chucked a semi-elf sheet into the download from the DFFD, it's got all the elves you'll see in fortress mode unless you embark on a forest retreat :P

To Johnny Chthonic and Jakarra: Both wrong! Its actually condorman!

To Thendash: Thanks for the catch! I fixt it up in the new download.

To Lord Nightmare: If DF got animated sprites... Id never stop spriting! Also.. I want sprites for missing limbs! :P

To Everyonelse!: Thanks fer zee kind werdz!

You can get animated tiles to a degree, there's a tag '[ALTTILE:'whatever']' in the raws which will cause the creature (don't think it works with objects) to fluctuate between the two tiles. I think in vanilla it's only used for the purring maggot, which apparently goes from [ to ].

It'd be damned hard to implement, but it'd be POSSIBLE, dammit.

It's possible with ALTTILE, but there's no ALTTILE equivalent for graphics sheets. Which is a shame, since it could have been rather easy to add, and would allow for FF-like two-frame "walk in place" animations.

Animations, even with only 2 frames, would be damn good to have.

Hey, I've never known about the alttile! At the very least, we could have animated birds :)
As for animated sprites... I think we've got bigger graphical concerns right now (not saying those wouldn't be very useful, with just six frames you could portray walking, attacking and sleeping! (practically the only useful information).

could alttile be used for insanity? I was sure that before I used graphics when Dorfs went berserk their symbol changed, I would se that as the best use of the AltTile option.

Also, I went through my files and I cant tell what I did wrong to cause Kobold camp to lose D's B's P's and apparently capital E's. and all the dorfs to show up as split, I didn't change the files at all this time, just dropped them in.

Just a curiosity, but perhaps Alttile is used for legendary dwarfs?  They "animate" to a certain degree with their flashiness...

Must needs be answered by the almighty toady.

Two days of pure distractions brings you a short animated DF film!

Sadly, there are no urists or magma or even socks.. but still it was fun to make :P

And BTW get REAL close to your monitor before you click the spoiler to view it.. its pretty much tiny... and if youve read all this its probably already 1/2 way through in the spoiler.. so better refresh your page and quickly hit that spoiler as soon as you see it!

A Vile force of darkness.. part 1 ENJOY!!:

And I`m pretty sure legendaries just use a palette switch and not an actual tile switch.
