Yeah, it's hard to see the brewer himself behind all that stuff.  Just the barrel would be enough (and maybe the barrel doesn't even have to be that big).

What's the cook holding?  Maybe he could just have a big ladle or something?

Dwarf jobs finished!.. i think....

Lye/potash maker -> Dyer -> Siege engineer -> Siege operator -> Bowyer -> Architect

To Footkerchief: I thought I was pushing the envelope with the brewer, I've got just a dood holding a barrel ill put up when i get around to it. The cooks actually holding a +Cat Tallow Roast+ on a platter which was actually a stack of biscuits to start, but ended up looking like pancakes, so it got modified and rotated and i thought it looked like a roast :P I'll try whipping up a vertical stack and a ladle and chuck them up later.

As for the philosopher I think the problem will be that there isn't a set look or object that can be best associated with them, the Greeks had the right beards for it however:

A toga would do the job, I think.
Great job, Beefmo. Keep it up.  :)

Some alternate cooks/brewers

Top row = cooks
Bottom row = brewers

Have at em!

To Vattic: Definitely a dwarfy beard if ever there was one.... haven't REALLY thought much about the philosopher yet.. but was maybe thinking about the possibility of considering the floating monk look.. with the crossed legs and maybe an aura.... But nobles are up next so I spose he'll be coming up soon ><
(Edit) OH! mebe the "thinker" pose?

To Ursca: Thanks! without the comments i would have lost intrest LONG ago :P

Try the cook carrying a plump helmet, and the 3rd brewer looks good.

Brewer three looks like hes about to pull a Donkey Kong.
My faves are brewer 1 and the Cook with the roast from the earlier image.

I took the Kobold heads and slapped together one that is kind of a mix of 1 and 2 with the ears of 5. weapons and armor, (not sure if they actually use copper helms?)

pre-post Edit: hmm I made the eyes yellow to make it look like you stumbled across them in the dark, but you cant see them, maybe darker skin? duno the little guy himself might still not fit, just was trying to make it similar yet more stalking and earthy then the Cutebolds.

Post post edit: hmm and its tiny, sorry

Just messing around with some nobles.

Administrator -> Book keeper -> Tax collector

Not so happy with the tax collector, but I`ll throw him out there anyway.

To Bloogonis: Won`t lie.. I`m kinda digging that kobald. I might screw around with him tomorrow and see how bad arse he can look decked out in copper gear :P

Is that a monocle the bookkeeper has?  If so, it should probably be a touch bigger, I can barely make it out.

Is the tax collector holding a coin with a money bag at his side?  I'd drop the coin and bag and just do an outstretched hand, like he's demanding dough from someone.

The administrator should just be carrying a long list.

So apparently I got distracted by World of Goo... That game is way too fun! Got myself up to 26 meters! (personal best!)

Anyho, since the last batch of nobles didn`t go down so well... REMAKES!

Administrator -> Tax collector -> Book keeper minus monacle (I can`t make it any bigger without taking all of his face ><)

(Edit)
Actually.. i like how the tax collectors robe turned out so administrator might score himself one of those!

It looks really good. However more and more I think it would be good idea to make also 200% (or more) zoom version - so it is easy to "read" your art.

What?
These ARE all 200% zoomed, dude.

The bookkeeper- I can't make out the book, even at 200%. Have you considered giving him regular glasses?

MOAR NOBLEZ!

Trader (Carrying the standard of the mountain home!) -> Reworked Book keeper -> Hammerer -> Philosophers! (One haules stone with the power of his mind! The other.. with his bulging beard muscles?)

To DennyTom: Sadly these images I`ve posted have been in 200% zoom for a better view. I wish DF would allow a bigger tileset but I can only work with what`s practical. Nobody wants `Designations` taking up half their screen. :(

To Mike Mayday: I wanted to see what i could get away with before having to go the standard glasses look. The book looked sweet on its own, but when a fatty dwarf holds it... it is hard to see.... So let`s try the hunchback book keeper! :P
