I think a whitish (or bloody) apron is mandatory.
Maybe dwarven doctors wear red: it hides the stains better.

I imagine dwarves perform surgery like they do mining:
using small pickaxes and wooden supports for bracsplinting, using encircling bands of cloth to bind wounds, studding plaster casts with spikes of onyx, etc.
Maybe doing amputations like they cut trees: with an axe.
And aneastetics by applying a big rock to the base of the skull. (alcohol only makes a dwarf sober, imagine effect of other sedatives)

obviously they would use distilled water as an anesthetic

I'd just like to point out... the graphics_mayday.txt in the pack looks for Koboldz.png (capitalised) while the file is koboldz.png which means that since in Linux filenames are case-sensitive it couldn't find it and took me a while to notice the problem.

Great work on this set by the way I love it.

Or at least an update on the set, or something.

I think I may have just lost all desire to continue working on my graphics set. A developer can't compete with an artist on their home turf.

So... I assume this whole set is just going to never be updated again?

Sad to say that due to unforseen circumstances (well not really unforseen... just chosen to be ignored as much as possible *caugh* funds almost depleted *caugh* probably get kicked out of the country if i cant find some steady work *caugh* stress *caugh*) I haven't been and probably wont be able to work on this for quite some time.

So I'm putting a zip file up on the DFFD for anyone interested in continuing with the set if they have the desire, or canabalizing it for their own set, whatever. Just figured it was better to put it out there so it doesnt fade from existence even if I do!

Contained in the zip, are all the sprite sheets, comics (both completed and not), sprite sheets used for said comics, messy sheets (the ones i worked with before i would transport the acceptable sprites to their final complete sheet) etc.

Hope someone finds a use for it all, and good luck to anyone who wants to continue with it!

I could be wrong.  What would you call it when you spend that much time obsessing over something that it turns out you don't even like?
Relationships?

As I was preparing to install what graphics Beefmo has been kind enough to provide us with, I realized that the trolls he made (which I liked so much) didn't appear to be present anywhere within the rar I grabbed from DFFD.  I took it upon myself, then, to take what he had posted and transcribe it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'm on a crappy laptop using MSPaint, so, while I tried to copy each color and place it accordingly, I might have made a mistake here or there.  I copied Beefmo's troll and skeletal troll, and just because I was in the mood I meshed the two to make a zombie troll.  I have not yet tried these in game, so I haven't bothered to edit graphics_example.txt and try it out to see how it works - I'll do that later.

Just wanted to share for anyone who might be interested.  It's in png so if you want to use the file as it is, you'll have to open it in paint or some other program and choose Save As... to change it into a 24 bit bitmap.  For my own game I went ahead and pasted the trolls into the goblins.bmp just for brevity.
