A city of marginally civilized bandits? I like that. However, I have some reservations about the practicality of them as written. There aren't enough people around these days to survive as bandits - it's just too hard to find enough people to rob.

Turn up. It's a bit shorter than normal so the jokes are a bit dense. The zefies don't do much this turn, except gather stuff.

Okay, I've got the initial setup for Luke. Speak up if anything seems wrong, of course. I'll get the turn done tomorrow (or maybe the day after; Tuesday is a bit busy).

Aww, man.
First come first served?
If only I had come'd first.
May I be put in some sort of waiting list for if/when another slot opens?

I'm going to say no, simply because I'm working on the next turn right now.

1) What are the rules about research trading? I'd like to try to trade archery to Pandarsenic for horseback riding (With wolves taken from the south, hopefully. Goblins riding horses seems strange.) Is the technology instantly traded, is it traded but half-done (Needing time for implementation), or is there no trading at all?

2) Is the overall map a square grid, or is it hex-based?

Some ships can navigate rivers. Your galley can't though - your people don't have enough experience with large craft to make a ship that's shallow-drafted enough to sail through rivers yet also large and seaworthy enough to sail in the ocean for weeks.

Tech trading takes a turn, but typically no labor. It is, however, often limited by theme - riding horses and riding wolves are very different skills, so the Neo-Tyrgani couldn't help you much with that.

The world map actually isn't on a grid at all. I decided grids are really only needed for labor allocation.

You make me sad. Very well, since the goblins don't need farming, no tech trade attempts for me this turn.

Hang on, hold up. I appreciate that horse-riding and wolf-riding are two very different things; but the main part of technology is not the application, but the idea. The mentality. The possibility. The basics. Reins, saddles, animal taming, breeding, breaking in, mounted combat.
Perhaps some sort of research bonus to hypothetical wolf-riding?

Nuke has a point. If you're considering wolf riding as a separate tech, could it work if wolf riding was horseback riding Mk. II? Say, if I have wolves and horseback riding, I can research wolf riding as a half-cost tech or something?

In related questions, does research labor stack? So my spending one point of labor each turn being a viable strategy? Or do I have to use it at once?

So does 1+1+1=3 or 1+1+1= 3 chances.
