Or do we get to decide what is and what is just corrupted?
Yeah, you do.

Kind of kills the point of revealed religions, but since not even the most fundie religious man can avoid making interpretations, there's no way out of it.

In that case i'll have a double serving of the salvation, but hold off on the eternal damnation. Gives me gas.

Which just goes to show that no god exists in any form that cares about our actions. It shouldn't be that hard to give us an internal or external ability to determine our intended function, but given how variable morality, religion, and society in general can vary there clearly is no extra-ordinary force guiding us...

Logic quails in the face of faith.

Logic quails in the face of faith.
I assume you mean the definition: quail - flinch: draw back, as with fear or pain; "she flinched when they showed the slaughtering of the calf"

In which case, I would argue the opposite.  Like Ignorance, Faith ignores Logic and Logic disproves Faith.

"Having faith" that the bridge will not fall, implies that the bridge itself isn't that trustworthy. It's not that different from "I pray that the bridge will hold my weight."

You can't disprove faith. It's an abstract concept. Neither can you disprove belief.

(You can disprove beliefs.)

Faith is, by definition, belief without proof. So no matter how hard you try, you can never win against Faith, because it already defies logic.

I can't say I've known anyone ever to let logic totally control every aspect of their lives. How could that work? Is said person a rare new species of human?

Seriously? It wasn't ovbious, but i wouldn't have thought it would be obtuse, what with our discussion of logic and all.
