I am no longer an atheist.
I thought you can be both, seeing as I doubt you believe in a god
Suprised that this topic is still kicking.

How many times do i have to repeat myself: Atheism is a lack of faith in Theism, not a lack of faith in God. You can be an Atheist and a Deist at the same time if you like.
That's quite a unique definition. I've always heard atheism defined as lack of belief in any god. Atheism is derived from the prefix "a-", meaning "without", and the Greek "theos" meaning "god". Seems to imply that atheism is lack of belief in any deity.
...
You forgot a step there;
Theism is derived from Theos, which would be fine, except that in modern language Theism has a definition all of it's own, seperate from Theos.
While Atheism is commonly described as the position that there are no deities, it's not
technically correct. Technically Atheism is the lack of faith in Theism, with Agnosticism being no knowledge of Theism and Antitheism being a denial of Theism.
Theism, however, can be broadly said to be belief in at least one deity, however in a more specific sense Theism refers to a particular doctrine concerning the nature of god and his relationship with the universe. Theism also usually concieves god as personal; actively interacting with world and the universe.
While technically you can define 'Theism' as 'Belief in God' and Atheism as 'No belief in God', those definitions are far to broad to be of any use, especially in a debate, hence why the more specific definitions exist.
