I looked at unNetHack, and it looks pretty crazy. You have to fight Cthulhu to get the Amulet instead of the High Priest of Moloch, and he's WAY tougher.

From the way he's described in the Wiki, he sounds like something you'll need to fight blindfolded and at range in order to beat, and he revives like a rider, and he explodes into stinky gas when he dies, AND he sucks brains like a mind flayer! It's FREAKING INSANE!

The High Priest was hard enough, geez.

And then the cops come and arrest you for murdering an innocent forum goer, right?

And this is how tinned food was invented.
Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Innocent?  HAH!  We're all guilty.

Well, murdering a forum goer, anyway.

So how many daggers(and which ones) do you stack together, before you start enhancing them?
Oh and how many pets do you keep normally(at the beginning and later on)?

Daggers are heavy at 10 units each, so I almost never carry more than 10, but you can go up to 15 if you use them very often. They never break, so that should be enough.

If you have a good light source, warning, infravision, ESP, or skilled divinations with the monster detection spell, you should probably carry more daggers than you otherwise would, especially if you're very fast or levitating (or both!). In any of those cases, you'd be able to throw more daggers than you otherwise would/can see the monsters sooner and can thus throw daggers at them sooner. Enchant them ASAP, so you won't need as many.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Well as a barbarian i just kept pushing my button in the direction of my enemy until i got all the way down the mines.
My mages never get deeper than Minetown(yes I go Skoban first).

Wizards are easy to ascend, not to descend. If you start with bad equipment and little desire to write "Elbereth" anyway. If you get reflect and magic missle you're all set.

Elves can be a dangerous enemy... they are strong for new characters, and they often appear in groups, sometimes equipped with wands, and they do not respect E-word.

So being an elf yourself also contributes to an easier early game.
