I found a statue and I completely forgot how to open them to see if there's anything in them.  How do you?  I know NetHack wiki would tell me, but no!  I need firsthand experience.

You destroy them with either a pickaxe, a wand of striking, or a spell of force bolt.

I have clearly been underestimating the power of the nymph menace.

I started that Samurai (named Frag Slamarm), found some +2 snow boots (that didn't identify as speed, elven, jumping, fumbling, or levitation, so they can only be kicking or water walking, and I'm not sure how to ID them without a loadstone, although I'll probably end up making a pool and jump in to see...), and I was wondering around, generally kicking everything's ass, when I bumped into a Nymph accidentally when going through one of the dark corridors, and she paralyzed me and took pretty much everything of value, including the wand of striking I found in a throne room (which I'll be revisiting once I'm properly prepared) and nearly zapped me to death. Hunting down that damn Nymph was an adventure by itself, but I eventually killed her and got my stuff back.

I then go down and I bump into another nymph and the situation repeats itself. I'm glad I was soon able to get telepathy and avoid such embarrassing situations in the future.

Oh well, I have -5 AC frm finding some good stuff, and I'm just starting Sokoban.

I encountered something VERY odd though, that I haven't read about in the wiki, I was on a level that for some reason was a great deal... smaller than the other levels.

Where normally the ends of the level reach to the sides of the window, I tried digging an couldn't dig that far for some reason. Preposterously weird.

Keep up updated on how you're doing ToonyMan. Don't be afraid to go into great detail.

Anyway, my general plan involves getting Magicbane (as I'm convinced that the only class that can easily survive being routinely cursed is the tourist), and instead of using any early wishes on scale mail, I think it would be far more useful to wish for 2 cursed scrolls of genocide, as that would identify genocide, and I can use one of the scrolls to reverse genocide silver dragons for scale mail, and I can use the other to nurse dance or somthing. Although that would only work if I already had enchant armor ID'd.
