I have a copy myself, but on the original three disks.  Is yours more stable due to installing from the cd version?

Mine always crashed when it attempted sound.  So I turned that off promptly, thanks very much but no thanks...

Mine's more stable because I got it in an abandonware pack, and now I'm running it in DOSBox.  Beats me why the sound would be crashing - I have sound on and it just doesn't make any noise.

Uh, don't expect future updates to be quite this detailed.  These took about two hours each, and I'm only gotten through 30 turns.

firstly, YAY COLONIZATION! finally found other people who like it!
secondly, imo you should build a town that can produce >20 ore/turn, so you can make your own muskets/tools. i found this really helps in the long run...
also you should get that founding father that increases gold from killing indians :)
anyway, i vote you call it... um... yeah i vote you abandon it, seeing its on a forest and only producing 2 food/turn tis gonna be real hard to upgrade it :(
also, why bother building a stockade if you're gonna get a free one at size 3?

sorry if i seem overbearing/controlling/other whatnot

It only needs a pioneer or two to clear away some of the forests and you will have enough food and perhaps a tobacco plantation. So it isn't gonna be that hard to improve..

It's only 1530 yet, I don't have any quick opportunities for an iron industry.

why bother building a stockade if you're gonna get a free one at size 3?

Because I just started earning Salle, so it'll be another 30ish turns before I get that bonus, and I need that stockade by yesterday.  I would have already built it actually, except I forgot to set Bay 12 to build it instead of a dock.  But at least I've got a dock now.

My thoughts exactly.  I got a free master weaver there too, along with the unarmed soldier, so it's actually a real town now.

also, what is this about no natural population growth? you get a new free colonist once you have 200 food in storage

...Really?  Whoa.  I've never built a warehouse, and I always play my resources on a razor edge, so I never would have figured that out.


Probably won't get through another update today.  Power problems are keeping me off the computer.
