Well, I only got a couple clear votes with no majorities, so I'm gonna take all those as suggestions and wing this the way I would anyway.

Spoiler: As America Turns... (click to show/hide)

I don't have time to do more tonight, so I'm halting things at 1601.  Here's where I stand:
-The English are at war with me for some unfathomable English reason.
-The French are at war with me because (I) sunk their boats, but I've kicked their asses.
-The Dutch are at peace with me because I've left them alone for a while.
-The Apaches have learned to live with me, but still send sporadic demands and raids.
-Boatmurdered is about to become a serious mining town, with a road and mine on sacred ground.
-The Merchantman has vastly improved my cashflow, just as I hoped.
-The Privateer is keeping the French on their toes.
-Tax rate is now 8%, after a Stamp Act and a war with Russia at home.  (Russia?)
-I've got more people than I have work for, so I'll start that cotton town once I get some guns.

More tips and names always needed.

In what other ways can you exploit get people to work?

Eh, not much to decide this turn. Just mine the silver and ores and start churning out tools 'n muskets while improving your property. You could also probably start a sugar growing operation in Boatmurdered.

It's Jakob Fugger.  Who's inclusion in the game I find weird, because Jakob Fugger died in Germany in 1525 and had nothing to do with colonization.  And he can only appear 75 years after he died.  Another mystery why he gets boycotts overturned when historically, he exploited from such things.  It's like including a gilded age tycoon like Carnegie in a game about WWII and making him increase worker happiness.

Sorry for the delay, been a busy week.  But New Various Nonsense was never far from my mind.

New Various Nonsense and environs.

I have marked some locations I plan to deal with.  Votes and names are needed for-
1) Plenty of farmland for raising domestic horses, and another silver vein when the one at Boatmurdered taps out.  This will also make a good staging area for attacking the Dutch.
2) Game and a lake means loads of food for horses (and some furs), but little else.  However, it's on the way to...
3) Fish, ore, sugar, and more furs, on a coast to boot.  But it's too far away to settle on it's own.
4) A nice, self-sufficient manufacturing spot, right next door.

The X's are Apache villages I plan to obliterate next time.  The capitol could remain a thorn in my ass if not destroyed, but I think it'd be funny to leave it be.  The Mission is toast either way.  Any comments on my battle plan are appreciated.

Spoiler: Map of the Known World (click to show/hide)

It's only 1620, but despite the increasing number things I have to keep track of I'm making progress.  I just had some backtracking issues this time from a faulty save.  I might have another session done tonight, definitely tomorrow.  I also put a status report up in the OP.

Use the cheat code. Type in "SMALLPOX" and all the indians die.

Your map has a strong resemblence to Delmarva.  Most of the main towns are even in about the right spot, New Holland is at Wilmington, New Amsterdam is at Dover, Chincinnati is at Rehoboth, Boatmurdered is at Salisbury.  Plus you captured the culture and economy very well: you export tobacco, love your guns, hate the heathens and there appears to be no entertainment but to go drinking.  You've even done a nice job putting a border between the righteous folks in Maryland and the haughty bastards in Delaware.  About the one thing missing is a city one the western shore there, on or right next to the river.  Build a town there as soon as possible and name it Oxford (a tiny town today, but once one of the largest ports in the 13 colonies.)

Actually, I tried attacking a village before the freeze, and the Apaches burned my Mission.

Oh, and Aqizzar, any word on how the war with Russia going?

That was just flavor I'm sure.  It says something different every time.  A better LPer than I could extemporize pages of faux-history backstory, but I'm not that dedicated.

Awesome, btw what are you going to do with the Aztecs when you find them?

Build a college, welcome to Spaniards and Americanos alike, that we may learn from our mutual advances if a free and equal exchange of ideas...

What do you think I'm gonna do?  Throw every last man, woman, and child into a big fire to melt the precious, precious gold from their bones.  I'm pretty sure that's where they keep their gold.  I haven't found any in my Apache fire, but I know they're poor after I killed all their workers.

Realistically, the Aztecs are way to the southeast somewhere, I've only found one of their cities.  I probably won't ever get there.
