Gross!

After a nasty tantrum spiral one of my Wood Burners promptly got a mood and claimed a tannery. Here's what he gathered:

Fortunately the resulting cow skull totem didn't contain the cat chunks anymore, guess they rotted away during the construction.

Can only see the thumbnail image.

Maybe you could post a written list of the components?

What kind of mood was it?

I don't think moods can use non skull/bone remains...

It was a macabre mood and it surprised me too that he used some rotten cat chunks (its 10 chunks because I modded my cats into a goblin-killing guard force, removing the beigin tag and turning them into size 10 does wonders for that). But I can mostly guarantee that this was indeed a part of the gathered components, no way cat chunks would've landed in the Tannery otherwise.

Did anyone else approach the tannery? maybe the chunks were left there from a previous job, and the "tsk" was just being disposed of.  I've seen plenty of materials show up at workshops with [tsk] that were not used in construction.

Hardly possible, if the chunks were there before the Tannery was claimed the chunks would've been on top of the list, not between the other stuff he collected.

I've never noticed order in the list to have anything to do with when item's were brought to or created at the shop.

Still, chunks wouldn't ever normally be in a tannery for any reason, would they? A tannery is for turning raw hides into leather, so other than the material it's made of, there shouldn't be anything other than hides and leather in the building's item list, except in the case of a mood. But if it was used for an artifact, you would think it would show up in the artifact description. And if it rotted away before he started, he might have gone nuts.

So maybe it rotted to nothing after he had already started working, which is why it didn't show up in the artifact description and why he didn't go insane.

This is weird any way you look at it, I think.

I wonder if you could actually make an artifact out of only Chunks.

As far as I know, if an animal chunk is taken in a mood, it somehow becomes leather.

Perhaps it uses the sinews then?
