Question time!

I can draw a straight line from J10 to I12 without hitting the graphical representation of the wall despite passing through its square. Can I shoot from there or not?

For the purpose of this tutorial, yes. I'll avoid these kinda maps from now on, but you can shoot if your firing line is not obstructed by landscape.

Chaoticjosh and Frelock, you also need to pick your sides.

I'll do something about the presentation of the rules, they are really quite simple.

Of course. Take your picks with the 130 points you're given, and place your team on the map.

I'll repeat the info from the first post, just in case - for round 2, Colonists have 150 points, the other teams still have 130.

Oh, and you're right, Pandar. I mixed them up somehow. In that case, the Mercenaries' Grunt 3 has lost its legs, and Grunt 4's torso is still at 3 HP. I'll update the map later, when I'm back at the PC.

That is an excellent point which must have slipped my mind.  I was wondering why anyone would go with the Warmonger over the Perpetrator, considering the increase in both armor and attack power.  The only difference in the Warmonger's favor was the extra arm, which didn't seem too important.  But jump jets, that makes the Warmonger much more valuable.  And what with the number of walls we have, jump jets are an absolute necessity.

Well, with expensive units and only 130 creds, there's not much more you can do.  You've got two snipers for the back lines (I like snipers), a heavy hitter who'll charge up the middle, and an all-around guy who'll defend and attack as needed.  It seems like a pretty good build.

And considering the fact that you're still surviving in round one, it seems like it works, too.

I just regret that we don't get 133 points.  26 points is a lot to waste, but too few for any of the raider's mechs.

Also, I could probably argue fairly well that our mutual choice is the ONLY viable Raider build for this game in this form.
