First artifact of the fort!

A Highwood Toy Hammer, made of 1 (one) highwood log, boosting the fey dwarf to legendary woodcrafting. The name of the artifact? "The Everlasting Infamy".

I suppose if nothing else I can look forward to having some kickass... wooden bolts? :\

Set him to making masterwork beds.

Edit: Oh, wait, that's carpentry. Nevermind.

Yup, I got a highwood toy axe too... called "The Mortal Trickeries." That makes sense, because obviously he's an elf. Used up peridot and some more highwood for decoration.

Don't scoff at masterwork wooden bolts... they hit as hard as standard iron bolts!   :P

Yes, but they're usually not a good use of wood unless a good part of your locale is a forest. Now, take into account that it's easy to raise enough livestock to get more bone bolts than you could ever need, and wooden bolts become obscenely wasteful.

I never use maces, and I am no goddamn elf!

Actually, maces are a pretty dwarven weapon, considering they typically menace with spikes...
It's swords that are arguably pretty elven. But maces, axes, and hammers? Manly dwarf weapons.

Nevermind, I fail at reading. Carry on.

Silk gauntlets menacing with spikes of plant fiber with a sowed on cloth image of a kobold holding up a stolen leather cap.

What do you mean gauntlets? I thought this sort of artifacts weren't being made in pairs.

about the two worst artifacts ever imo. at least the chain can be used on the well im about to construct. :-\

If you hit a dwarf with moving water with sufficient strength it will knock the baby out of the mother's arms.  The water can then be used to sweep the baby into a well or cistern for drowning.  The device which does this can also double as a mist generator.

You've hit the nail on the head, also invalidating what you've said about it being one of the "worst artifacts ever". Granted, the crown is shitty, but the chain is top notch. The value might not be very high for an artifact, but it should be enough to make for a sublime well.

îcumdumed, my first artifact. I think it was a wooden sock or something studded with magnetite. (dunno if that's even possible)

I know it was a sock though.

What pisses me off to no end is when weapon/armor smiths grabpig iron as the only metal. I mean come on, grab adamantine or even steel. If you are going to make it a non standard weapon material, at least make it something interesting, like gold or platinum, which would be epic.
