Are Vermin Magma-Proof?

Because i just noticed a bunch of Acorn Flies swimming happily about in my magma channels under the forges.

Now that's an interesting sight.

Nop, vermins are not magma proof. These flies were swimming in the magma you say? It's a bug in that case.

Or it wasn't 7/7 magma.

I've seen flies and such, in under 6/7 water, so...

it's a bug, I've seen flies in 7/7 magma many times, often at the bottom of a dump chute.

Flying vermin are apparently immune to it. Non-flying are not; I cleared out my traps full of toads, rats, and other assorted pests by ordering them pitted into lava.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

On a somewhat related subject, are flies attracted to magma?  I always seem to have several swarms in my obsidian making chamber...is warm and moist good for them?

they breed in rotting stone...

and while nor immune to magma, it just sets ground vermin on fire... which works VERY slowly.

I had a cat hunt a cave spider that had wandered through a few tiles of magma.  The cat ended up with a red head and greyish head bits from the flaming arachnid.  I'm surprised it didn't burn to death but apparently common sense somehow kicked in and it decided to drop it after it took enough damage.

I then forbid the remains and blocked the passageway to prevent further stupidity until the spider remains burned up. The cat spent the rest of it's life passing out randomly.
