Goblin Infinite Loop
« on: April 22, 2009, 02:22:09 am »

This is something I came up with while bored, waiting for obsidian to form (damn you slow regenning magma pipe!) Make a chamber with two doors on opposite sides, link pressure plates next to the doors linked to the door on the opposite side of the room. Put a goblin inside. He'll go to one door, see that it's locked, and then click, open up the door on the other side of the room. When he gets to that door, he finds it's locked, but oh look, the door on the other side of the room is locked. Repeating for ever... and ever...

A great way to make something repeat without all that messy water sloshing around! Here it is in action: http://mkv25.net/dfma/movie-1299-goblininfiniteloop

Now just need to throw in a pressure plate to link to an atom smasher... and we'll be all set. :D

That is delightfully evil. Now you do that and also hook the plates up to some spikes in the nobles room. That way it gives them going to take a nap a sense of adventure! Will I get impaled today? Who knows!

you can also do this with pets. makes a handy set of repeating switches too (using a goblin to operate automated spike traps to kill other goblins would be fun :))

If you *really* wanna be evil, you could do it with a noble. Until he starves to death...

I will dedicate myself to producing these until I have 1 FPS, due to hundreds of creatures pathing the same route over and over again.

Then flood the complex with magma.
