Don't listen to this phony soviet, El Presidente.  Russia rewards it's workers with material luxuries!  The people, they enjoy their lives, and like to enjoy them.

It's those weirdo Chinese that pay everybody the same.

The Генералитет бака олова of yours does not truly see the issue at stake here. How can you think of material goods with such an unfair wage problem? We cannot think of record players for the people when they do not all get papaya. Sell the last of your strange fruit, and grow good, organic, natural things, like potatoes. All potatoes are the same, and nobody goes hungry. Plus, there is always Водочка.

And what of the education Tropico provides? It will only serve to instill capitalist notions in the people! Give the people a good, solid education, and teach them to be god-fearing. It would be as God intended.

Do the people a favor, приятель, and "Fix" the wages. Tell the stuck up bitch in her clinic that she can be paid as like a farmer. Incidentally, comrade, how's your head? That was quite a show you put on last night. The lamp is salvageable, ya?

How old is he anyway?  I bet he just got out of highschool, so he's probably like 15.

His first son, Placiado Rodriguez is 18, his other son on currently attending highschool is 16, and his youngest Joseph Rodriguez (I did NOT intervene! They named him that themselves!) is 12.

On another note I noticed students were forced to live in shacks... So I enacted a social security bill, they will now receive enough money to live in the Tentaments.

In a surprising turn of events, one of our soldiers has died.

Bob Macpherson was a fine soldier, but he never could give up the cigars. And after being unable to treat his ever growing problems with his lungs he died today.

On another note, it's time to decide if we should hold elections this year. The people seem to support us but it's still up to us to decide if we should go through with them.

"Comrade", if that is what you really are, answer me this.

Why do you call upon "God", defying party doctrine?  As stated by Karl Marx, organized religion is an opiate of the masses, and it oppresses the proletariat!  You are a Capitalist spy!

If the people are behind us, we have nothing to lose by holding elections. They will make people happy, and they will keep your superior leadership in power, Generalissimo.

We seem to have a good chance.

Alright, my opponent is Carmen De La Rosa, a 65 year old farmer born here in VN City.

The vote is in, I win 63 to 20. No tampering of the vote either.

I have also begun construction of a powerplant.

If this continues, I'm afraid we'd have to take away your title of "corrupt dictator".  You were freely elected, for crying out loud!

Tropico is...

A Democracy.

Are you suggesting that our Glorious Leader be deposed, even though his leadership has guided Tropico into an new golden age?

Are you some sort of capitalist pig?

*The following is an excerpt from an independent school newspaper, it's content has not been approved*

Old grudges die... Hard.

Today, with no warning "Presedente'" Sniper Joe brutally ordered the killings of two innocent citizens. Marguita Mainiac aged 65, and Javier Mainiac aged 28. The Mainiac family had been at odds with Sniper Joe ever since he muscled his way onto our island, and one of Sniper Joe's own goose steppers even killed Minister Mainiac only a few years ago.

Is this what we voted for? Killings in our streets? In broad daylight? I for one think we should have another election this year!

ALL HAIL OUR GLORIOUS LEADER

Just checking: You have set the high school to military education, right?
Also, if you can afford it, get the literacy program.
How happy are the people? If their food is <70, and you claim to export so much food, mayhaps you should consider food for the people, hmmn? Comrade?
Got a high school? Excellent. Proceed to build both a lumber mill and a cannery.
Also, you should have cheated on that election... seriously. Now the democracy expectations will be through the roof! Next thing you know they'll expect elections every five years! And fair ones too!
