The elementary I went to, Lowell, banned any kind of made-up or imaginary game, with a penalty if you were caught playing them. We were only allowed to play real games, like basketball, handball, dodgeball, and catch, etc.

My elementary when I was a kid we had gym 3 times a week.  Now there's only 1 time a week my brother says.

My elementary school didn't allow us to play anything except soccer.

Only if it was on fire.  If not, then that's -2 pentagon.

Wait, would this include chess?

Regardless, why on earth would they do that?

I get this feeling that it should be possible to sue that elementary school, Squeegy, but that it isn't.

My elementary schools did almost the same thing. We would find some favorite game, like 4 square or throwing bouncy balls against the giant wall thing they had, and we would start to make up rules and variations and so on. Then one kid would whine about how somebody cheated and the people who watched us would force mandatory fixed rules on our games we weren't allowed to change.

Well house rules are good. But not when they totally change the game or go unexplained.

After all, soccer where you have to eat the ball to score isn't soccer anymore.

Which is why it is then called Eatball. It is the strangest thing, people always look at me funny when I am talking about it...
