Dwarves will always find something that you havent found and forbidden, most likely the item in question will be at the opposite side of the map and they will always stumble upon an ambush while retrieving it.

Law of defenses: you will always have a gaping hole/broken traps/merchant in your defenses when the goblins come
to play

law of floods: your fort will flood at the least expected moment, leaving you to wonder why 2 z-levels of your fort are suddenly a cozy magma pool

Law of flood gates, your dwarf will always seal himself on the wrong side of the flood-gate, and it will always be your most important dwarf
