Off topic but the OP has a ballin' avatar.  I use a Daedalus avatar on IM.  High five.
Is that from Deus Ex?
On topic: I have yet to have a megabeast destroy visit my fort. I don't think I've ever seen one outside of adventure mode.

The logistical problems dealing with a private space colony are at least as bad as dealing with the zombies.

I've only had one so far.  Fortunately, the titan kept falling unconscious.  I sent a marksdwarf out to plink a few bolts into him.  Then I tried to get him to go back and grab more bolts, but nooooo.  He walked up and started bashing the titan with his copper crossbow.  Several hits to the spleen and other body parts later, the titan died.

I guess an unconscious titan isn't enough of a threat to consider using sensible tactics.  Well, I suppose it could be that dwarves is stoopid.

Urist Austin, Axedwarf.  A dwarf barely alive.  Gentledwarves, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic dwarf. Urist Austin will be that dwarf. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

I think intelligent beings can't be tamed. Or some tag that prevents such things.

I suggest setting the guy in a valuable cage and stick him in a hall somewhere.

Just be aware that tantruming dwarves will sometimes let animals out of cages. I had that happen with an untamed dragon in my zoo during a party once. It was... bad.

I've only had one show up, it was a Dragon, in perfect health too.  I keep hearing stories of Megabeasts visiting with both legs lopped off and such.

I caught him in a cage trap and tamed him, he's one of my anti-Kobold guards.

I had a zombie dragon show up once, it was yellow and light yellow all over the place. It passed out so much that I had enough time for my single mechanic to make mechanisms, place 5 cage traps, and load them without being in the view of the dragon. It ended up taking a few seasons for it to reach the entrance to my fort, but when it did everything was pretty much healed up.

Apparently, through some way or another, my world save got corrupted and filled with NEMESIS LOAD ERRORs. Just when I was about to see if my Titan breeding project would go through.
