Are we talking about Newspaper Comic Strips? Webcomics? The stuff that has superheroes?

I Enjoy a couple webcomics but not that superhero stuff.

Schlock mercenary and XKCD for web. Old Avenger comic and marvel comics in general (old ones, not the stupid-ass new types) for print.

You know, in reading old and new, old mainstream comics seem to be oversimplified, new seem to be soap operas with punching.

As for web, xkcd, PA, Questionable Content, though I hate myself for liking it, and Order of the Stick.

Ugh. You penguin avatar types have horrible tastes in everything, including comics.

How about http://www.smbc-comics.com/ for web comics?

Or like, Calvin and Hobbes or something normal?

Quit trying to incite a flame war, faggot.

Whoa relax, Penguinfriend, I'm just using this as an excuse to introduce people to my favorite web comic...

But seriously, I don't get XKCD at all. No need to explain, I just don't dig it, man.

smbc is really clever, and I understand what you mean about xkcd, but it's willing to go into different realms.

Comic strips somehow never come to mind, but calvin and hobbes is good. I hate those damn calvin stickers people put on their cars.
Also, Get Fuzzy, Sherman's Lagoon, Far Side, Dilbert used to be funny and sometimes still is.

Also, Basic Instructions online is solid.

Yeah, I noticed the longer a comic runs, the worst it gets. Even stuff like Order of the Stick was interesting at first untill it reached a point. Get Fuzzy, Dilbert got awful. Far Side was hit and miss untill it stopped. Calvin and Hobbes stopped before it got awful (which is something the creator intended) and I'm glad I stopped reading the Bloom County comics when the creator retired the first time around.

I'm going to check out Basic Instructions since you mentioned stuff I like.

How about I throw out http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/ in the meantime?

I read a HUGE amount of webcomics, to many to list, but including Freefall, Schlock mercenary, xkcd, OOTS, DMFA, ... wow looking at my bookmarks I really WAS right they were to many to list, by orders of magnitude. And that's just the ones I check daily.

Yeah, I noticed the longer a comic runs, the worst it gets.
Strange, I've always gotten the opposite impression: the artist gain in skill and the plot advance.
